Kamala stirred in her sleep at some point during the night and nuzzled against Liz's shoulder, but didn't wake up.

Morning sun shone through the open window, filling the room with its gentle light.

Kamala slowly opened her eyes.

"Ugh" she groaned quietly, lifting her head off the pillow and running her hand through her hair. Her head was pounding, her mouth was dry and she didn't remember falling asleep.

"Hi sleepy head" Liz smiled

"Shut up" Kamala's voice was hoarse, her head aching.

"Someone is in a good mood today" Liz sat up in bed and yawned "How is your head?"

Kamala looked at her for a second, before putting both hands on her head and groaning in pain.

"Throbbing and pounding" she answered in grumpy voice

"Here take this, it will help you" Elizabeth handed her some painkillers and glass with water "I'll go make you breakfast, so that you don't take those pills on full stomach."

Without waiting for an answer the younger one jumped of the bed and walked to the kitchen.

Lizzy made some coffie, so the smell will make her mother came down stairs and started on some light breakfast for her. She was right, only few minutes after her coffie was made, Kamala came downstairs. She had dark circles under her eyes and really looked half dead, when she took a cup of coffee.

"Hello Kammy, did you take the pills I gave you?"

"Yes" her voice was quiet

"Than please eat some breakfast, you'll feel better and your spleen will thank you" Izzy turned the light off leaving just a soft light form the windows, because she saw how the fake one was hurting her mother's eyes.

"I don't like it when you call me Kammy" her protest was half hearted and quiet, she took a sip of her coffee that was still way too hot. Her head was still killing her and she desperately needed food and that coffee to kick in

"But you're right, I need to eat. And stop babying me" she said after another sip of coffee.

"So Kammy, I shouldn't make you breakfast or give you meds or make you coffee? Is that what you want?"

"I could make my own breakfast" her tone was still sleepy and her protest more a murmur "and I don't need you to give me pills, I'm not a child"

The woman was grumpy in the mornings and hungover mornings were even worse.

Izzy knew her mother, she knew what would make her feel better. She put her hands under cold water for a moment and than came form behind and touched Kamala's forehead with them. The cold was soothing and her face relaxed, a soft groan of relief left her lips.

"What-" she started, but trailed off. She leaned into her daughter's touch and closed her eyes.

"You always forget that I know you mama." Lizzy smiled and turned her hands around and touched her again with the other, freshly cold side.

"Mhm" she hummed, eyes still closed, when another soft groan left her throat.

"That feels so good" she muttered, tilting her head back onto Liz's shoulder, her whole body relaxed.

"I hate you" she added in grumpy, pouty tone.

"And why is that Kammy?" Elizabeth went to the sink and made her hands cold again. "But I love you and it matters" she touched, older woman's neck this time, with her cold hands.
