The young reporter's smile widened, clearly pleased that the younger one was willing to humor her.

"You two have a very close relationship, some might say very unusual, would you say that's true?"

"I don't know if it's unusual. I love my mother she loves me."

"So it's just normal, loving relationship between mother and daughter?" the reporter pressed "There's nothing unusual about the fact that Ms. Harris treats you more like a life partner, than a daughter?"

Elizabeth thought for a moment before answering.

"I think loving a vice president and having her as a mother is different than a normal relationship. Let's not forget that my mother is an extraordinary woman."

"That's true" the reporter nodded, before a small smirk crossed her face "But you didn't answer my second question"

"I have only one mother, I can only tell you that different people have different opinions and reactions with their parents." Liz was getting a little annoyed.

The woman's smile grew slightly more predatory, obviously sensing she touched a nerve and wanting to make use of that.

"Speaking of 'different families' can we talk about how you were adopted by your mother, when you were 5?"

Kamala touched her daughter's waist wanting to tell her that she didn't have to answer it. The touch immediately calmed Lizzy down.

"Yes indeed I was adopted, but it's not what makes my family different, madame vice president never left me believing that I was any worse or diffrent than any other kids my age. She raised me as her own and I became her own."

The reporter's tone changed as she feigned a look of pity and sympathy.

"Yes, but you were never her blood, so I imagine there must were moments where you wanted to know about your *real* parents."

"I have my real parent and her name is Kamala Harris, I don't have any other parents." Kamala's body tensed beside Lizzy's, but her heart was full.

The reporter's tone changed once again, as if she was feigning to be offended at the comment.

"Oh come on girl, there is no need for that. Your mother did a lot for you for sure, but that doesn't change the fact that she is not your actual parent"

Kamala's hand tightened on her daughter's waist, her eyes narrowing at the audacity of this woman.

"I can be a 'girl' for you, but my mother is a vice president of the United States so have some respect."

The reporter was clearly getting a little cocky, when she smirked at Liz.

"Yes, your mother is a vice president of the United States. But she is not
your real mom. That's just the truth"

"I really don't see when you want to get with this conversation, it already left the professional side a long time ago."

"Oh, I'm just trying to understand your relationship" the woman said, a sickly sweet smile was still on her face.

"Surely you must be interested in your origins, who your birth parents are, how they look like"

Liz could feel her mother stiffening even more beside her and knew it wouldn't take long for the older woman to lose her patience.

"Even if there was a hint of interest for that people in me, i don't think it would be any of your business. I know you're young, you're chasing a story, but i must inform you that you crossed the line, a while ago."
