Y/Ns point of view

"C'mon Wonwoo!" You shouted as you continued walking down the beach.
"Y/n, I can' walk that fast, slow down!"
You turned around to see your best friend struggling walking on the sand. You had to hurry up or you will miss watching the sun going down.

"You literally have longer legs than me, where's the problem?"
"The problem is that i despire walking on sand if you didn't know yet."
You laughed.

You knew Wonwoo hates walking on anything else than a normal ground. But this was the last time as highschool friends that you would watch the sunset together so you needed him to walk fast. Or at least faster than he normally does.

"Stop talking and hurry!"
You hurried up to go to your favorite spot on the beach on Jeju Island. Your families came here every summer since Wonwoo and you were born and it was the last day of summer break and the last day of you two coming together here in a long time.

Both of you will start going to different Universitys in a few days. Yours in Busan where you study psychology, Wonwoo stays in Seoul to study photography.

"Wow." You mumbled as you walked up the top of the hill, to your favourite spot on earth.
The sun was already going down.
"Wonwoo!"
You took out your phone and took a photo of the sunset.

"It's always breathtaking." You heard your best friend saying right behind you.
You turned around and faced him. The sun was shining down in his face and he once again looked majestic. No wonder you started to have feelings for him. Besides his gentleman behaviour, he was extremely good looking.

But never in your life would you tell him that.
Both things.

"I hope we come here again soon." You said, turning back to the sunset.
"Me too. I hope our semester breaks are close to each other."
You nodded. That's what you hoped too.

"Are you going to be okay without me?" He asked as he sit down next to you.
You did the same, crossing your legs. As you turned to him, you catch him staring at you.
"I'm not a little girl anymore, Jeon."

He smiled.
That damn smile.
"I know. But we've never been apart from another for that long."
You nodded slightly. "I know. I'll just miss you."

Wonwoo nodded too. "I'll miss you too."
"Promise me something."
He tilted his head. "What is it?"
"Don't let the distance change our relationship."
Wonwoo chuckled. "You think I'll ever let that happen?"
"Promise." You said, holding up your pinky.

Wonwoo looked down at your pinky finger, before coming up to your eyes again. He locked his pinky finger with yours.
"I promise. Nothing is gonna change our relationship."
You smiled at him.
"Great."

You both let down your fingers again and watched the sun go down on your last evening on jeju island.
You guys talked about the next weeks and how stressful life is gonna be once you started university. But for some reason, you weren't anxious. Cause you know whatever happened, you had someone in Seoul, expect your parents, who is going to watch out for you.

Later that night, on your way home on the plane, you posted a picture of the sunset on Instagram. When you woke up in your bed the next day, you noticed Wonwoo posting also a picture.
It was you, staring at the sunset. He never posted you on his account. He always posted his photography of things.

He always posted his photography of things

You smiled down your phone.
Your heart was beating fast.
Some days you wish that Wonwoo would feel something for you too. That the two of you would enjoy all those things together as a couple too.
But then there is the fear of loosing everything you have.
And that was scarier than anything else.

Wonwoo's point of view

It was the first time ever he posted something on his social that wasn't an object or view of something. It was a picture of a view if you take it seriously, but never had he posted another person.

Not even another person, his best friend.

It was weird sitting in the cafeteria without her on his side. It was the first day of university and he already felt like something was wrong.

"I'm impressed you're here alone."

Wonwoo looked up from his plate of food and looked at his best friend Mingyu. The boy sat down in front of Wonwoo.
"What do you mean?" Wonwoo asked.
"I thought you would cancel your place here to study in Busan with y/n."

Wonwoo raised one of his eyebrows. "What? Why would I do that."
"You know what I mean. Y/n and you are inseparable."
"That's not true and you know that."
"Whatever man. Ready for tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow?"

Mingyu sighed. "Seriously man. The first semester party tomorrow night. Don't tell me you forgot about it. You promised to come with me."
Wonwoo sighed. "I hate parties when-"
"When y/n is not there?" Mingyu teased.

Wonwoo frowned. "When I don't know people."
"You know me. Jeonghan and Joshua are also coming."
He sighed. "I don't know Mingyu, it's the first day and I already have so much work to do."
"Jeon Wonwoo, you promised me. You're coming with me."

On the next day, Wonwoo found himself at the party where his friends brought him to. It wasn't the first time he was at a party, just his first time without y/n.

"You don't look like you have much fun." Joshua, one of his friends, said to him.
Wonwoo was sitting on a chair with a bottle of beer in his hands. He felt uncomfortable. His friends were all talking with other people he doesn't know, while he was sitting alone.

"It's boring." He said, taking a sip of his beer.
Joshua sighed. "Your life can't just include y/n. Why don't you talk to some other girls? When was the last time you had a girlfriend? 2 years ago?"

Wonwoo looked at his friend. "You make it sound like we're 80 and close to death. We're 19, Josh. And I don't feel like dating someone right now."
"There are at least 20 other woman here who can also be useful for something else. C'mon man, have some fun!"

Joshua slapped his shoulder before leaving to play beerpong. Wonwoo was left alone again and looked around in the room. The party was held at someone's house in Incheon. Joshua was right, there are a lot of woman here, who also looks pretty.

He wasn't out on a date with someone since his 18th birthday. He just... wasn't interested. But maybe it was time for him to date again so he can have someone to hang out with since y/n is not around.

Wonwoo sighed. "Y/n..."

"You are one of the freshmen, right?" A unfamiliar voice asked next to Wonwoo.
He looked up into a girls face. She was smiling down at you, also holding a beer in her hands.
Wonwoo nodded. "I am, yeah."
"Cool, me too. Mind if I sit down?"

The girl pointed out to the chair next to Wonwoo.
He shook his head. "Feel free."
She sat down next to him and took a sip. "I'm Minyeon."
Wonwoo smiled at her. "Wonwoo, nice to meet you."

"What are you studying, Wonwoo?"
"Photography. You?"
"That's so cool! I'm studying psychology."
Just like y/n...

Minyeon and Wonwoo talked through the whole night and went to Wonwoo's dorm room afterwards. Even though he was enjoying the night, he felt weird the whole time. Days and days after, he still couldn't figure out why.

Time passed and they started dating.
But for some reason, Minyeon wasn't the one who was on his mind the whole time. It was someone else.
And he had yet to find out why that was.
