I waved enthusiastically at the last kid that left, and as soon as he did, I slouched over, my headache unbearable.
"That was a tiring day... Right Moon?" I looked beside me, expecting to see Moon.
But I didn't.
"Moon?" I asked. I exited the daycare, stumbling slightly from my headache. I looked around outside the daycare but saw no signs of him. "Moon!" I yelled out for him. I ran out of the daycare area, checking everywhere I knew, but saw nothing. Eventually, I found myself in the atrium and saw Moon passed out in the middle of the atrium. "Moon!" I ran over to him and carefully picked him up. When I picked him up, he started to stir, eyes unfocused.
"Sun...?" He whispered hopefully.
"No... It's Eclipse..." I whispered.
"Oh..." Moon's hope faded.
"Moon-" I started but cut myself off.
The grief over losing Sun was getting to his head.
To be fair though, I have hallucinated Sun after his death quite a few times, but after hallucinating Meteor for ages I had to killed him, I know they're not real, as much as it hurts.
"I miss him..." Moon whispered, taking off his glasses.
"I know... I do to..." I rubbed his back as I spoke.
