To Be Or Not To Be Ft. Deacon Kay & SWAT

I wake up to the sun shining in my face and when I look over to Mike, he's already gone. I look at my phone; 8 AM. I stretch out and walk my way over to the kitchen, where I see a piece of paper lying on the counter. It says: "I'll be right back with your favourite coffee ;)." My favourite coffee is a latte with foam on top and a caramel drizzle. I walk upstairs to the bedroom and take out some clothes for today and take them with me to the shower. I turn the water on and when it's heated i slip under it. As soon as I feel the nice warm water on my skin, I begin to think about SWAT. I have to sign the final papers today and all of a sudden I begin to feel nervous. As soon as I'm done showering, I dress up, blow dry my hair and put on some makeup. Not too much, but just a little mascara, concealer and some brow gel. My hair has gotten pretty long over time and, while being straightened, it almost reaches my butt. It's naturally pretty wavy, but I like it better when styled. 

As soon as I walk downstairs, Mike enters the door. "Hey babe, look what I got you." I look at him smiling an give him a kiss to thank him for my coffee. "Thank you honey." He smiles at me and asks me when I'm taking off to the headquarters. The headquarters is only a 7 minute drive, thank god. "I'll be gone in like 30 minutes. I don't want to show up too early. They might think I'm too enthusiastic for this job." Mike laughs and also goes upstairs to take a shower. I might just watch my favourite show before I leave, to make time go by just a little bit faster. I turn on Gossip Girl and half an hour later I nervously put on my shoes. You got this, I say to myself in my head and walk up to the car. 

Once I drive up to the headquarters, I can't contain myself anymore. My heart is rushing out of anxiety and excitement at the same time. I step out of the car and see some people hanging out outside. They look nice, I say to myself to convince myself that I'll be just fine. Once inside, I see  2 guys (or men, looking at how they are built) boxing in the ring and 2 standing outside, cheering them on. As soon as I wanted to walk past them, one made eye contact with me and walked up to me. "Hey, can I help you?" He asked me. He seemed pretty young, I'd say around the end of twenty. "Hey, uhm, yea I'm looking for commander Hicks. I have to sign my final papers." He looked at me surprised. "You're going to work here? Which squad?" "20-Squad." I say with a smile, but still nervous. "No way. You'll be working with us! Chris is going to be so happy that we now have another woman in the team. I'm Jim Street. What's your name?" I smile at him and introduce myself. "Lily Baker, nice to meet you." "Guys, this is Lily, she's going to be joining 20-Squad." I raise my hand and introduce myself. "Hi guys." "This is Alan, Ricky and Tim. You won't be working with them that much, because their 30-Squat, so different teams." One guy starts to laugh. "What a shame you'll be joining the worst Squad of SWAT." Jim looks at him and laughs. "He's just jealous. Come on, I'll show you were to find Hicks." I nod my head and let him lead. We had a small conversation and he told me the names of the people in the team and that I'd feel right at home. "You know, I can introduce you to the team after you finished what you need to do with Hicks, if you'd want." Shit. I wasn't prepared for that, but saying no would make me feel bad in the end. Plus it might be better to get to know the team before my first day of work, so I agreed and thanked him for walking me to Hicks' office. 

I knock on the door of Commander Hicks' office and almost immediately I hear him saying: "Yes come on in." When I entered, he had a disturbed look on his face, like something worried him, but when he saw it was me knocking on the door, his look softened. "Ah Lily, good you're here. How was the moving day?" I ignore the mood switch and went along with it. "It went great actually, thank you. We came here yesterday, so we're still in the middle of unpacking." He nods his head. "Well, good that you have some days left to take care of all that." "I had to sign some papers sir?" He walks over to his desk and takes out a few papers and gives it to me. "Yes, it's a simple thing really, but I figured it would be best to do it as quickly as possible." I quickly read through the papers and signed them. "Anything else you need from me sir?" He turned to his desk again and told me that was everything. "Good luck unpacking and I see you on monday." I tell him thanks and let myself out to find Street again. 

"Hey there she is, our new asset." Says Street happily when I see him outside with, what I figured, must be 20-Squad. "Hi guys, I'm Lily." Everyone in the circle introduces themselves. "Hi I'm Tan." "Hondo." "Luca." "Hi I'm Chris. Good to have you in our Squad." I smile, because she looks genuinely happy a girl joins her Squad. "Hey, I'm Deacon." Says the last one. "Nice to meet you all." I say relieved as they all look very nice. "So, Monday is your first day of work right?" Asks Street. I nod my head. "Yes, it is. For now I still have some unpacking to do, So I'm glad I still have the weekend off." I say with a smile. "Oh, you just moved here?" Hondo asks. "Yesterday to be exact. So our house is filled with boxes and everything." "Our?" Street asks. "Me and my boyfriend." He leaves out a quiet "Ah" and nods his head. Hondo gives him a fist to the chest and I see Deacon looking at Street with a stern face, which says 'Don't even try.' I laugh it off and Chris asks me if I can speak to her. I wave the guys goodbye and walk away with Chris. 

"Don't pay too much attention to the boys. They'll drive you crazy eventually if you do." I laugh it off and we both look to the guys still standing there, talking to each other. I see that Deacon's still looking at me, but then quickly turns away when we stare in each others eyes. "And most of all, try to ignore Street. He's the real player of the team." We looked at each other and started laughing. "Yea.. I kinda figured already. He just looks like one." I say still laughing. "Hey Lily, we are headed out for drinks tonight, do you want to join us?" Hondo screams from where he's standing, looking at me. "uh, yea sure!" I yell back. "Here, put your number in my phone, then I'll make sure you get in the group chat ASAP. Then we can let you know when and where to meet." I nod my head at her and put my number in her phone. "Thank you. I will be going home then and see you tonight." "See you tonight." She says while she waved at me. I walk over to my car and wave the boys goodbye as well. Everyone says goodbye, except for Deacon, who just looks me in the eye, which gave me the chills. 

I'm not sure how to feel about him and I'm not sure how he feels about me either....

SO... That was chapter 2. I feel like we're slowly getting into story more and more now. Don't worry.. Everything will start... soon. 👀 I always say; the first chapters of a book are somewhat boring, because you have to meet every character and get used to the story. That's the exact way I feel while writing this book, but i can't start of immediately with the tea guys. 🥲

PS. I'm sorry if my writing structure is still a bit off, I'm trying to figure it out ASAP.
