The dining room was suffocating, the air felt thick with tension. The table that was once filled with laughter felt like a trap. Siddharth sat with his head high, no emotions on his face, radiating dominating aura.
"Sit" He asked Anika as she finished bringing all food she made from kitchen.
Anika glared daggers at him. She slowly served food to her daughter and Siddharth.
"Don't make me repeat." He said. His voice calm and filled with authority.
"I'll stand." She said.
"Mom please." Avneet pleaded glancing nervously at Siddharth.
Anika sat reluctantly.
"You've outdone yourself. Food is quite good." Siddharth said.
"I didn't do it for you." Anika said. Her voice cold.
Avneet panicked as she looked at Siddharth's displeased face.
"What did you say?" Siddharth asked.
"I said I did not do it for you. You do not deserve to sit here with us... You are a monster, a criminal who destroyed my family. You do not deserve to sit on that chair, and you never will..." Anika said pointing at the chair Siddharth was sitting on. It was Shivaay's place.
"Mom... Please..." Avneet whispered trying to stop her mom.
"You are a criminal, a coward who kidnaps a girl and hides behind threats."
Siddharth's smirk vanished and her eyes narrowed. He was angry.
"You've got quite a mouth for someone who is still breathing because I allow it." He said, his voice low and dangerous.
"Don't you dare threaten me." Anika said. " You may scare my daughter, but you don't scare me... I am Anika Shivay Singh Oberoi... My daughter is beautiful, kind, an angel who lived her life beautifully and And you are just a pathetic and broken man who gets off hurting others. You do not deserve my daughter's love." Anika said proudly
"Ma, stop!!" Avneet cried. "Please don't make this worse."
Siddharth leans back on the chair, his eyes darkened. "I see where Avneet gets it from... The attitude. Though she is much better at using her other skills to get what she wants. Darling, I don't think your mother knows you well enough... Should I tell her what's her daughter like?" He says his lips curled into smirk.
"What are you talking about." Avneet's stomach churned, her voice barely sounded as whisper.
"Oh come on Avneet don't play innocent... We both know what I am talking about. I know the real you... The girl who'd do anything to get she wants, you've slept your way through life- and that's the only thing you are good at!" He says.
"Siddharth stop-" Avneet tries to stop him. He can't be saying all this in front of her mother.
"Don't play innocent now... You mom thinks you are and angel stuck with devil, but does your mom knows how did you persuade this devil to bring you here... How you were on your knees sucking my..." His words hit like a slap... Anika gasped and her face pale with shock.
Avneet stood up from her chair. "How dare you..."she said her voice trembling in rage.
"It's the truth, Avneet come on tell your mother- How many guys did you spread your legs for before I came along? Twenty? Thirty? Or did you lose count?" Siddharth smirked.
Before she could think her hand flew across his face. A sound of slap echoed in the room.
The slap was hard enough for him to draw blood across corner of his lip.
He slowly turns his head back to her, his expressions unreadable. His cheek burned from impact. His eyes looked dark and dangerous.
"And you just made a big mistake darling!" He said wiping blood off corner of his lip by his right thumb. His voice quiet but very dangerous.
Avneet's swallowed hard. Her heart pounding so fast but she didn't dare to look away and show her fear to him.
"Take it out on me..." Her voice steady despite the lump in her throat. "Leave my family out of it."
Siddharth lips twitched in the smirk.
"Oh we will see about that later darling. Finish the dinner and meet me in your room." He gently taps her cheek. "Have a nice dinner Mrs. Oberoi." Siddharth said turning politely towards her mother. He strode out of room without another word. His footsteps echoed the room.
As she heard the door slam, Avneet's legs gave out and she fell on her knees. "What have I done!" Avneet asked to herself. It was a mistake. It was a mistake to bring him home, asking him to let her meet her mother... She should've known it would never go right... It would just make everything work.
"Avneet are you fine?" Anika ran to her making her Stand on her feet.
"I am fine." Avneet said. Her voice hoarse. Her mind raced. She knew Siddharth's threat weren't empty. That slap had just escalated things to new level. She remembered what happened last time she had slapped him... A chill ran down her spine.
