Siddharth's footsteps were deliberate, each one echoeing through the hallway, reminding everyone of his control. When he reached the locked room, the guards unlocked it quickly, they didn't need any further instructions.
Inside, Anika was sitting by the window, her eyes red froms crying. As she looked up she saw him standing at doorway, her expressions shifted to anger, fear and disbelief.
"You..." She whispered... "Where is she?? What have you done to her!?" She asked her voice trembling.
Siddharth closed the door slowly behind him. His movements were slow and controlling. "Please sit down." He said politely and Anika looked at him in disbelief.
"I'll stand" she snapped.
"Sit." He ordered this time but his voice still low and polite.
Reluctantly she sat down her arms clutching her dress and her body trembling.
Siddharth stepped closer. "Your daughter!? She is perfectly fine." His tone smooth and cold. "She's exactly where she needs to be, learning her place."
Her mother's expression twisted in horror... "What...what do you mean!!?? What did you do to her?" She almost shouted.
"It means that she made a foolish mistake and I corrected her. Nothing more." His lips curled into devilish smile.
"She's just a girl, someone who has done nothing wrong... Nothing to deserve this... She is my daughter... My angel... You've already done enough what more do you want?" Anika asks breaking in tears.
"She begged me to let her see you, she fell on her knees and pleaded me to let her see you once and against my better judgement I brought her here for dinner.
I was foolish to think that you deserve a chance to see her, that you will show some gratitude. But what did I get in return? You disrespected me... That bitch slapped me..." He clenched his teeth in anger.
"You deserve every word I said... You are a monster. You've stolen my daughter's happiness..."
"Enough!!" He shouted
"Do you know why I let that dinner happen? Do you know what I had planned??" He sounded like maniac, a psycho who has lost his sanity. He was going crazy.
"I bought your late husband's, I mean Shivaay uncle's company." He said bluntly.
Her eyes widened but he didn't stop.
"I spent weeks negotiating that deal, making sure everything goes smoothly. Do you know why... Because I intended to gift it to him... I wanted to ask her hand in marriage. I wanted everything to go smoothly... But nothing went that way... Everything was ruined by him.
But then now that he is no more, I wanted to give it to her, to secure his legacy as a honor of man who built it. To prove his innocence I wanted to give her one more chance...
But no...
Now I will give it to you. I will take care of your son. He will be taken care of by the best doctors in the world and he will be cured as soon as possible." He said
"You think you can silence me... But my forgiveness?" Her breath hitched in anger.
"I didn't come here to argue with you. I came here to get things straight." He said softly.
"There is nothing you can do to justify what you have done, You've imprisoned my daughter, torn her away from her family, humiliated her in front of me."
"You think this is how I wanted things to be!?" He crossed his arms.
"See, your daughter means something to me." He said and his tone was colder now.
"I was willing to make sacrifices to ensure that you, her family had security."Her mother's expression didn't waver. But he wasn't finished yet..
"But, this is not a gift." He said sharply. "This is an exchange. Your daughter is mine now. She belongs to me... And in return I give you the company. This is the deal."
Anika's voice shot in anger. "You want me to trade my daughter for the company?? She is my child!!"
"Not anymore! She is mine now. She was mine the moment she chose to walk in my life again. And now she stays with me. She will never cross paths with you again." He says.
Tears welled in her eyes as she shook her head.
"You're a monster." She whispered.
"Perhaps, but I am the monster who will provide you everything you could ever need. I will give you safety, money and a future." He says.
"Please don't take her away from me she's all I have left." Her mother practically begged.
"I will make sure she is taken care of. You and your son can live good life together if you just forget about her and don't interfere anymore." He said. He sounded so cold hearted that Anika couldn't even believe that someone like that can even exist.
"I need to go back to my wife. She must be missing me." He said before walking out.
His heart ached.
