(Dabis POV)

Dabi gently pulls Star out of the workshop. Star sniffles and looks at the floor.
He gently pushes a strand of her hair out of her face, putting his hands on her shoulders, looking down at her as she looks up at him.
"You don't need to worry about what that bird brain said. Okay? You're not weak... you're stronger than you think... he just doesn't know you like I do, he doesn't understand- so don't listen to him..."
Star nods and hides her face in his chest again, her body liming slightly for a moment.
"Yeah...I know...but then again I guess it's pretty hard to understand us..."
Dabi pulls her close, holding her gently against his chest.
"Yeah... people like him will never understand us. But that doesn't matter. As long as we have each other, we don't need to worry about the people like him who don't get us, okay?"
Star nods and relaxes a bit.
"Y-Yeah..."
"You sure you're alright though, he didn't say anything else to you that made you uncomfortable or anything... right?"
Dabi speaks soothingly and softly as he continues holding her, gently stroking her hair.
"No...he didn't. Don't worry... just a little tired from last night...
Star mumbles softly. Dabi gently rests his chin on the top of her head.
"Yeah, okay, I just wanted to make sure. You were looking pretty uncomfortable during that whole argument... if he had tried anything to you, I was ready to burn him alive..."
"Oh, it's okay...though I do think you were being a bit over protective...b-but I get it..."
Star mumbles as she smiles weakly. He smiles back seeing her smile. He knew because of the burn scar on the side of her face, he knew it was hard for her to smile, so he was glad he made her smile. Especially since nowadays there wasn't much to smile about.
Dabi sighs- he knew he was being over protective... but it's hard not to when it came to her. She was the only thing in his life that he really cared about anymore. She was the only thing he even had.
"Yeah, I know, I know... I just don't like it when people who don't know you get too close... I know I overreact sometimes though..."
"I know, I get it...it's okay..." Star hums as she hugs him and nuzzles her face into his chest.
Dabi leans into her hug, resting his chin on the top of her head again. He takes a deep breath and hugs her back, making sure to not hurt her stitches.
"I just worry about you, you know? You're my little sister... that's bound to make someone a bit over protective..."
