AU – Different First Meeting. Simón is 28, Ámbar is 27 (They have 1 year and 5 months of age difference but this is after Ámbar's birthday, so she's already 27). For plot purposes, Luna and Simón are the same age here (not like it matters since she's not technically mentioned, but I wanted to clarify in case someone pointed it out.)

Hope you enjoy!

"I still don't like this."

Walking out of the restaurant, Delfi followed her boyfriend over to the street corner, where they waited for the light to turn green to cross. The sound of traffic and pedestrians was louder here than it'd been inside the establishment, and yet she still made her voice quieter than usual, as if the two still inside would magically hear her. "I mean, set Ámbar up with Simón? He's too sweet, she's gonna eat him alive!"

For the record, Delfi loved her friend, she really did. But Ámbar's attitude toward her friends versus the guys they tried for her to meet was totally different. Delfi stayed in there with them until the waiter took their orders just to make sure Ámbar wouldn't leave the date the moment they walked out— It had happened before.

Her boyfriend held her hand and interlocked their fingers reassuringly. "Okay, one: it's too late to back out now, my love," Pedro reminded her. "And two, as I see it, he might be the only one with enough patience to deal with her."

Delfi bit her lip, not very convinced. "I guess..."

There were many reasons why they thought it would be great if those two started going out, but now that they'd gotten to the moment of truth, she was worried that theory would be nothing like reality.

Delfi stole one last glance at the two people sitting inside the restaurant. Ámbar caught her eye through the window and waved at her with a smile.

I should probably start looking for a new amplifier for Simón in case this goes too badly.

The traffic light turned green and Delfi walked away with her boyfriend, praying for the best.

Ámbar lowered her hand the moment Delfi was out of sight.

In front of her, her lunch date was smiling a little nervously, but sincerely, as far as she could tell— Simón, she thought his name was. He wasn't the worst any of her friends had ever fished out for her. At least this one had arrived in a dark blue shirt and black jeans instead of a tank top and basketball shorts. Seriously, what was Jazmín thinking?

The guy shifted in his seat now that they were alone and opened his mouth. "So—"

"Let's get things straight," Ámbar cut him off. "The only reason why I'm here is to get Delfi off my back. I'm not interested in the slightest in learning anything about you, and I won't be sharing any personal information I don't feel comfortable sharing either. Let's just eat our food and leave. Understood?"

Simón was dumbfounded. He blinked a few times, processing the information, and then backed up slightly in his seat, a little deflated.

"Um... Well, I guess that takes the pressure off..." He mused.

Ámbar showed him a fake smile. Good thing he took it so positively.

She looked down at her phone.

Simón rubbed the back of his neck.
