Tyler was at his locker, pretending to be busy, even though he wasn't actually doing anything. His hands fidgeted at his sides, and his leg bounced slightly. He was waiting.
And then—
"Tyler."
Tyler jerked at the familiar voice, his head snapping up.
Logan stood in front of him, clutching the note. His expression was unreadable, but Tyler could see a slight pink dusting his cheeks.
Tyler's throat went dry. "Oh, uh .. Hey."
There was a small silence before Logan finally spoke again.
"You're an idiot."
Tyler blinked. "Wow, okay, damn."
Logan shook the note at him. "This-this whole thing, Tyler. You seriously thought insulting me was the best way to confess?"
Tyler groaned, rubbing his hands over his face. "No! It was stupid, I know! I panicked, okay? I was trying to ask you out, and my brain just—" He made a wild motion with his hands. "Freaking malfunctioned and I called you ugly—"
Logan snorted. "Extra ugly."
Tyler whined. "Stop."
Logan chuckled, adjusting his glasses. His expression softened slightly as he looked down at the note.
"But then you wrote this," he murmured. "And, Tyler, it's .. it's really sweet."
Tyler felt his entire body heat up. "Oh my God." He hunched over, groaning. "You weren't supposed to actually read it."
Logan rolled his eyes. "You literally put it in my locker. What was I supposed to do?"
Tyler peeked up at him, his nerves still bubbling inside him, but—Logan was smiling.
Maybe .. maybe this was okay.
Maybe now was the right moment.
Tyler swallowed thickly, straightening up. He exhaled deeply.
"Since, uh, since you liked the note and all .."He hesitated, heart pounding. "I was just wondering if, uh .."
He inhaled sharply.
"Will you be my boyfriend?"
Logan blinked.
Tyler internally screamed.
He was going to say no. He was going to laugh at him. He was going to—"Yes."
Tyler stopped breathing.
"Yes?" he repeated dumbly.
Logan laughed. "Yes, Tyler. I'd love to be your boyfriend."
Tyler stood there for a second before the words finally registered. His face turned bright red, and suddenly—
"Holy shit, you're mine."
Logan's face was just as red. He adjusted his glasses, trying to huff, but the way his lips quirked up betrayed him.
"I was already yours, dumbass."
Tyler's grin softened, his heart swelling.
He reached out, intertwining their fingers.
"Yeah," he murmured. "Guess you were."
A short distance away, the group watched.Aiden and Taylor had to physically hold back their squeals, gripping onto each other as they bounced on their feet. Both loudly jumping around and giggling like crazy fangirls.
