Daisy spent her summer back at her cottage, nestled in the quiet solitude of the forest. The days were long and lazy, filled with the hum of cicadas. The nights filled with occasional hoots from the owls and the rustle of leaves. She spent most of her time studying, determined to improve her grades for her second year at Hogwarts. Last year hadn't gone as well as she'd hoped, particularly in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and she was eager to prove herself.
The cottage, though small and isolated, felt like a sanctuary. She didn't mind the quiet life—it gave her time to reflect and prepare. But she missed Hogwarts. She missed the bustling corridors, the hum of magic in the air, and most of all, her friends.
Her blackouts, which had plagued her throughout the school year, seemed to have vanished after the excruciating pain she'd experienced on the night Harry faced You-Know-Who. She wasn't sure what had changed, but she was grateful for the peace.
One sunny afternoon, as she sat by the window, head buried into her books, an owl tapped on the glass. Daisy's heart leapt as she recognized the familiar jagged handwriting on the letter.
"Moony!" she exclaimed, tearing open the envelope.

Dear my favorite Day,
How have you been? I heard you were accepted to Hogwarts. For that, I owe you a congratulations! I wish I could've been there to see you open that letter myself. You must have grown so much since the last time I saw you. So, I bought this dress. I'm not sure if it will fit you or not, so I aimed for it to be bigger—you can always get it tailored smaller.
I remember my days back at Hogwarts. They were the best memories of my life, and I hope you cherish every minute there too.
Anyways, I'm going to be visiting you soon. I can stay for a couple of days this time. I've been getting more stable lately, and it's about time I stop traveling so much. It's getting tiring at this age to have odd jobs all the time. Is there anywhere particular you'd like to visit? I can accompany you there.
Oh, and I hope nighttime's darkness doesn't scare you as much anymore. But just in case, I'll remind you that I'll always be your moon in the night, my little Day.
Missing you.
Yours,
MoonyP.S. Heard you're sorted into Slytherin, so I picked you a green dress.

Daisy's eyes brimmed with tears as she finished reading. In her life, there were three people who had helped raise her: Hagrid, Molly, and Remus. Hagrid was her primary caretaker, but he was more like a fun uncle than a parent. Molly was the closest thing to a mother figure, but with seven children of her own, her attention was always stretched thin.
Remus, though his visits were infrequent, was the one she felt closest to. He was her father figure, the one who had helped her through her fear of the dark. She remembered how he'd told her his nickname among his friends was Moony, and how he'd promised to always be her moon in the night, watching over her.
Her heart raced with excitement. Where should they go? Diagon Alley, of course! She hadn't had the chance to explore it properly with Hagrid last time, and the idea of staying at the Leaky Cauldron thrilled her.
She tore open the package, her breath catching as she pulled out the dress. It was a stunning emerald green, sleeveless with a puffy skirt. She held it up to herself, spinning in front of the mirror.
"It's perfect," she whispered.
Daisy quickly penned a reply:
