Daisy opened her eyes slowly, blinking as she adjusted to the dim light of the hospital wing. The room was familiar—she had been here more times than she cared to count. The faint glow of moonlight filtered through the windows, casting soft shadows on the walls. She must not have been unconscious for long, she realized, as the night sky outside was still dark.
Her gaze shifted to the foot of her bed, where Harry and Professor Dumbledore stood. Harry's face lit up as he noticed she was awake.
"Daisy!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with relief.
"Harry... Professor Dumbledore," Daisy croaked, her voice hoarse. She tried to sit up, but her body felt heavy, as though it were made of lead.
"Here, drink some water," Harry said, handing her a glass. She took it gratefully, gulping down the cool liquid.
"What happened?" she asked, her voice steadier now. "How's Ginny?"
"Miss Weasley is safe now," Dumbledore replied, his voice calm and reassuring. "She has fully recovered."
Daisy exhaled, relief washing over her, but then the gravity of the situation hit her. She realized she must have broken dozens of rules that night.
"Profes—"
Dumbledore held up a hand, interrupting her before she could finish. His sharp eyes seemed to see right through her. "I must say, your actions were nothing short of heroic."
Daisy froze, her anxiety lifting as his words sank in.
Seeing her relax, Dumbledore's lips curled into a gentle smile. "I have awarded points to Gryffindor, but I believe you deserve recognition as well. Two hundred points to Slytherin."
Daisy stared at him, her jaw slightly ajar. She had never earned so many points for her house before. The weight of Dumbledore's words settled over her, and she felt an overwhelming mix of pride and disbelief.
"But really," Dumbledore continued, his eyes twinkling with quiet amusement, "we ought to stop meeting under such dire circumstances, Daisy. Poor Remus looked ready to suffer a heart attack when I informed him of the news." He let out a gentle chuckle, the warmth in his voice cutting through the heavy air.
Daisy managed a weak smile, though the weight of the moment still pressed heavily upon her.
"I'm sure you have many questions," Dumbledore went on, his gaze shifting between her and Harry. "As does he."
Daisy nodded, her mind racing. Then, she remembered having a vision of Harry yelling for help. "Sir, earlier, when Harry was facing the basilisk, a vision flashed into my mind. How did that happen, sir?"
"You saw me?" Harry asked, a little wide-eyed. Daisy nodded.
Dumbledore's expression grew solemn, his piercing blue eyes twinkling with a knowing depth.
"A rather grand question to begin with," he mused, a faint chuckle escaping his lips as if to soften the weight of what was to come. "But perhaps, at long last, the time has indeed come—" he paused, studying Daisy with quiet intent.
"To answer you truthfully, Daisy, I believe you and Harry are owed an explanation... about the bond you share."
"Our bond, sir?" Harry asked, his brow furrowing.
"On the night that Voldemort attacked Lily and James Potter, two infants were found at the scene," Dumbledore said, his piercing gaze moved between them, settling on Daisy. "Twins."
Harry stiffened beside her. Daisy barely breathed.
"You, Harry," Dumbledore continued, "and another—" He paused, his hand lifting slightly before gesturing toward Daisy.
