Mahir stretched his arms over his head, leaning back into the couch, completely unaware of the absolute crisis happening in my mind.

He was too... relaxed.

Too comfortable in his world.

And worst of all?

I was comfortable in it too.

I glanced at my phone, pretending I was checking emails when in reality, I was just stalling.

He cleared his throat. "So, when exactly are you leaving it are you really gonna stay ?"

I rolled my eyes and put my phone down. "What, you're trying to get rid of me already?"

He smirked. "Not trying. Actively working on it."

I scoffed. This man.

I crossed my arms, tilting my head. "And here I thought you enjoyed my company."

He snorted. "I enjoy peace and quiet. Which is the exact opposite of what you bring."

I put a hand to my chest, gasping dramatically. "I am offended."

"Good. Now, go home."

I sank further into his couch, making myself more comfortable. "No. I like it here."

His head fell back against the couch with a groan. "Of course, you do."

I smirked. He really thought he could outmatch me in stubbornness? Cute.

Mahir sighed, shaking his head. "Fine ."

I grinned. "That was easy."

"Don't get too comfortable."

I smirked. "Oh? Why? You afraid you'll start liking me too much?"

He froze. Again .

For exactly two seconds.

Then, he quickly stood up, clearing his throat. "I'll get you a blanket."

I watched him walk toward his room, fully aware that I had just won.

When he returned, he had a soft gray blanket and a pillow in his hands.

And then, to my complete and utter disbelief-

He set up a place for me on the couch.

Neatly. Carefully. Like it was his job to make sure I was comfortable.

I stared at him. "What... are you doing?"

He sighed, placing the pillow just right. "Making sure you don't complain all night about my couch being uncomfortable."
