The first thing I felt when I woke up was warmth.Soft, steady, unfamiliar warmth.
And then, as my senses slowly kicked in, I realized—
Roohani Singhania was sleeping in my arms.
Her body was tucked against mine, her head resting on my chest, her breath slow and even.
I stayed still, not wanting to move, not wanting to wake her up.
Because I knew the second she opened her eyes, the second reality kicked in—she might pull away.
And I wasn’t ready for that.
Because for me?
This wasn’t just a heat-of-the-moment thing.
This wasn’t just some impulsive mistake that we would brush off as nothing.
I wanted this.
For a long, long time.
I had wanted to hold her like this, wake up to her like this.
And now that it had happened, I was terrified that she might not feel the same.
Would she pretend it meant nothing? Would she act like this was just another night, just another moment that we would eventually forget?
I didn’t want to know.
So I did the only logical thing.
I pretended to be asleep.
I felt her stir against me, shifting slightly.
Then, to my utter shock—
Her fingers lightly traced my jaw, moving over my cheek, brushing against my lips.
I almost lost my damn mind.
Holy shit.
She thought I was asleep.
And she was touching me like this?
Then—
I felt the warmth of her lips press gently against mine.
Soft. Barely there.
Like she was stealing a moment she wasn’t supposed to have.
Like she wanted to kiss me but didn’t want to face the reality of it.
It took everything in me not to smirk.
But, of course, I couldn’t help myself.
The moment she started to pull away, I smiled.
And she froze.
Then—
SMACK.
"Mahir Sehgal, you sneaky bastard!"
