Newt and Thomas were very close the next day. They didn't hide it anymore. Everyone gave them weird looks but never anticipated they were dating.
At lunch they sat together, comfortably close. Alby seemed to notice. He thought it was strange.
"Best friends now?" Alby asked.
"You could say that." Newt replied.
Thomas nudged Newt in the arm, giving him 'the' look.
"Actually we're more than friends." Newt said as Alby seemed to walk away.
Alby turned. "What?"
"We're dating." They both said in unison.
Alby gave them a look and smiled. He walked away seeming to be satisfied.
Thomas looked at Newt, they both laughed. They were shocked. Why? They weren't sure but they were happy to get it off their chest.
The following weeks they slowly came out. Everyone knew now. Some disapproved. Others cheered.
They feel deeply in love. They were happy.
