The night is too quiet.

The air feels thick, heavy with the weight of what's coming. Every breath feels slower, every second dragging, stretching thin between us like an invisible thread about to snap.

Jisoo stands beside me, a gun strapped to her thigh, her blade secured against her hip. The fire in her eyes is unmistakable—focused, relentless, unyielding.

She doesn't hesitate.

She never does.

And maybe that's what terrifies me the most.

Because she's not afraid to die.

She's afraid of something worse—losing.

And if losing means sacrificing herself?

I know without a doubt she will.

I exhale sharply, stepping closer. "Jisoo."

She tilts her head, looking up at me.

I cup her face, my thumb brushing over her cheekbone.

"Stay with me." My voice is quiet. But the weight behind it is heavy. "No matter what happens in there—don't do anything reckless."

She softens. Just a fraction. But then she smiles, and it's not reassuring.

It's sad.

Like she already knows she can't promise that.

I press my forehead against hers, closing my eyes.

She doesn't pull away.

And for just a second—there's peace.

But then—

Jungkook's voice crackles through the earpiece.

"Move. Now."

The war has begun.

The warehouse is massive, its towering walls lined with crates and flickering overhead lights.

We move in silence, our footsteps light, careful. The distant hum of security cameras fills the space, but they won't save him tonight.

Jisoo leads, her gun raised, every step deliberate.

We reach the central corridor—and then it happens.

Gunfire.

A storm of bullets erupts from the upper balcony.

"Cover!" I grab Jisoo's wrist, yanking her behind a stack of crates as metal ricochets off the concrete floor.

She breathes heavily beside me, gripping her gun tighter.

I peek over the edge—three guards, automatic rifles, scanning for movement.

Jisoo's lips tighten.

She locks eyes with me.

Then, before I can stop her—she moves.

She slides low along the ground, rolling behind another set of crates, gun raised.

Three shots.

One guard down.

Another fires back, but I take the shot before he can react.

Two down.

Jisoo moves swiftly, her blade flashing under the dim warehouse light. The third guard doesn't even have time to scream.
