I tread so lightly, every step,
Like walking ice that hasn't set.
One crack, one slip, and I may fall,
Lose you, lose us—lose it all.
Your words don't say it, but I know,
The weight you bear, the debt I owe.
Not just in bills, but in your eyes,
A love now measured, compromised.
If I don't stand, if I don't rise,
Will you let go? Will we divide?
Is love enough when pockets drain?
Or will you leave to ease the strain?
I search, I try, I fight, I plead,
But fear is growing, taking seed.
Not just of loss, not just of lack,
But of you turning your back.
So tell me now, if all else falls,
If fate denies, if doors are walled—
Will you still stand, will you still stay?
Or will you turn and walk away?
