Chapter 59
"What did you just say? You kidnapped me?" Salaar couldn't believe his ears. Zarmeena had just confessed that she was the reason behind his current miserable condition.
In response to his shock, she simply nodded, pouting like a child caught red-handed.
"Why do you look so stunned? As if you own all the copyrights to kidnapping! Did you forget that you kidnapped my brother first?" she retorted.
"Zarmeena, enough of this nonsense. Untie me!" Salaar roared, his voice echoing through the room.
For the first time, Zarmeena saw him this furious, and it did shake her a little. But she stood her ground, shaking her head in defiance.
"Zarmeena, this isn't a joke! My whole body is aching. Untie me!" Salaar took a deep breath, softening his tone when he realized that yelling wasn't getting him anywhere.
"Nope, not until you forgive me," Zarmeena said stubbornly, crossing her arms.
"Zarmeena."
"Salaar."
"This is not how you ask for forgiveness. If anything, it's making me even angrier!" he snapped.
Then suddenly, something clicked in his head. "Wait a minute... how did you even manage to kidnap me from an army guesthouse? How did you get past the security?" His brows furrowed in suspicion.
Zarmeena smirked, tilting her head smugly. "Oh, that was easy! Where nothing works, my mathematics works."
8:00 AM - Army Guest House
"Baba, I have my finals in an hour, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail again," the army guard's son whined.
Zarmeena, who had been lurking nearby, perked up at the conversation.
"I've done everything I can," the army guard sighed. "Got you the best guides, paid for tuition, but with my limited salary, I can't afford coaching academy fees."
"Assalam Alaikum, Uncle," Zarmeena chimed in, walking up to the father-son duo.
"Walaikum Assalam," the guard replied, eyeing her curiously.
"Uncle, sorry for eavesdropping, but I couldn't help overhearing your discussion. If you don't mind, I can help your son with math. I'm a tutor, and I can teach him the basic formulas he needs to attempt his paper. Plus, my guesses in math exams never go wrong." She grinned. "But... I need a small favor in return."
The guard raised an eyebrow. "What favor?"
"You let my cousins cut the wild grass for our cattle."
The guard looked around suspiciously, then spotted a group of teenage boys standing nearby, dressed in rough clothes, their faces the very picture of innocence.
"Hmm... alright, but don't damage army property. Otherwise, you'll be in trouble."
"Of course, guard uncle! But... there's a tiny problem," Zarmeena continued, putting on her best tragic heroine face. "My mother is on her deathbed, and she desperately needs these medicines. If you could bring them for me, I'll have more time to tutor your son properly."
The guard sighed, clearly torn. "Fine, I'll bring the medicines. But please help my son pass this time. He dreams of becoming an army officer." His eyes held the desperate hope of a father willing to take a risk for his child's future.
Mission Kidnap Salaar - Successfully Executed
Within an hour, Basit hacked the security cameras. Arshad snuck into Salaar's room through the window, pressed a chloroform-soaked handkerchief to his face, and knocked him out cold.
