Omniscient
Holiday cheer wasn't hard to come by around this time, for the group of seven had learned just last year, the vibrance of USC during Christmas time.
It's currently the week before yet another break.
Where students were either half zombies or halfway in vacation mode already. Where the library and student center were filled to the brim almost every hour of every day. Of students slouched over their laptops and pages upon pages of notes, and of every whiteboard being filled top to bottom with notes from all kinds of majors. Accounting, nursing, finance, engineering, political science, criminal justice, and psychology, all the very same.
There was an exam, or two, being held every day for each of the students.
From class to class and building to building, they walked in the cooled California weather. Passing by the enormous Christmas tree at the center of the campus courtyard, along with warm lights decorating some of the pole lamps that beheld USC flags at the top of them.
Just outside the window of their dorms, they could see it all from afar, too. The five girls and the two boys of the group of seven, all staying in USC Village.
Finished with classes for today, and taking a brain break from all the studying, Eve was in her room, getting dressed. And doing the very same, for she had practically been living in the library this week, Ocean was also in Eve's room, already dressed.
"You think I would look good bald??" Eve stepped from the bathroom into her room, covering her hairline and locs with both hands to show her girlfriend. "Yay, or nay?"
In the large bean bag chair, in black leggings and a black athletic jacket with long white socks, Ocean merely chuckled. She sometimes wondered where in the world Eve came from, for she doubted it was Earth like everyone else.
"As your girlfriend I'm supposed to say 'yes, baby, you're beautiful no matter what,'" she gave a look that contained a smile. But the smirk behind it and her words told Eve there was more. "However, my darling, as your best friend, I'm telling you absolutely not," Ocean shook her head with laughter, a tease lacing her smile upon Eve. "That head of yours is ginormous."
Eve flipped her best friend off then, hearing Ocean snicker as she rolled her eyes on her way back into the bathroom.
"Don't threaten me with a good time," Ocean called out, smirking as her attention went back down to her phone. Out of her peripheral, she could see Eve's head pop back into the room, having her look up. Just for Eve to say nothing, only wanting to make sure Ocean was looking when she rolled her eyes a second time, even harder. "Come here," Ocean twisted her lips once Eve had ducked her head back into the bathroom.
"No."
"Oh?" she raised her eyebrows, her smile going wider in amusement. To which Eve didn't even need to see, for she heard it in her girlfriend's voice alone. "Come here, Emori."
"Don't be using my government name, I don't know who that is."
"Alright, fine," Ocean smirked, watching the bathroom doorway expectantly. "You know who Devereaux is?"
Her eyes lit with mischief and humor upon Eve stepping into view right then, pointing an edge brush at her from across the room with attitude.
"You wanna get fucked up."
"No you do," Ocean stood in amused laughter, not caring at all about the threat she just received as she began closing the space between them. "Because I shouldn't have to repeat myself when I say 'Come. Here.'" In those last two words, she had snatched Eve's shirt at her waist to yank her closer. Gently, though with assertion.
