Omniscient

The ground was rumbling.

Energy, from the stands to the court, could be felt in one vibration. One sound. Bringing the Galen Center to life.

In a collective roar, the students of USC cheered and rallied for their team. Their opponents' section, for UC Berkeley, were simply no match for the entire stadium rooting for the school on their home territory.

Cheerleaders, smiling bright and clapping in unison, moved in sync with their poms as they stood on the sidelines. UC Berkeley's cheerleaders did the same, on the opposite side of the court as they were just as loud in sound.

The buzzer from the clock was loud, signaling halftime as a bunch of players scrambled to beat the time. Right as it hit zero, Quincy stood on the outermost line, near half-court. He gave the last shot his best in a quick step before raising up, shoulders and hips squared. The ball left his hands in a quick and smooth swish.

It slipped through the goal with barely a touch to the net. The sound of it was music to his and his coach's ears before the buzzer went off amidst the crowd's blaring cheers.

He hung his head, dropped his arms, and released a smiling breath of relief when receiving heavy pats to the back from his teammates. They all walked to court-side together, grabbing their water bottles and tossing their heads back when squeezing them to hydrate themselves.

In a red jersey, with her boyfriend's number on the back, Leila was dressed in streetwear denim with a crisp pair of dunks on her feet.

To reveal a hint of skin, her jersey was tucked upward at the side as her hair was in a shoulder length bob of boho braids. She stood on the row behind the team's bench, as close to the court as possible. Just as her boyfriend had requested.

His best friends were beside her as well, some on the same row as her and some on the row behind her.

Things were different, though very much the same.

Two years had gone by of them all attending Quincy's games, which brought them all closer over time in terms of the group members' significant others. Their bunch had just about multiplied in size, for Ocean and Eve were practically married, while Soraya and Isaiah were engaged. Where there was Diamond there was Dakota, not too far behind Paris was Nathan, and Quincy and Leila practically had a kid on the way.

"You look so cuteee," Leila held her boyfriend's chin as her smile included the scrunch of her nose. She took a picture from the top of his head as Quincy simply blushed, letting her. "Okay-"

"Okay I gotta go before Coach sees me-" He stood on his toes with his hands on her hips for a quick kiss. "Hey guys-"

"Hey Quinn," many of them responded as Quincy gave Nathan and Isaiah a dab.
