The sound of your alarm ringing in your ears woke you up from your deep slumber. You were just dreaming of school suddenly being canceled, but here you were–waking up to the reality that today was the first day of your new school.

You were not looking forward to going. It took you almost an hour to calm your mind last night. The thought of not fitting in and being socially isolated plagued your mind. At this stage, most friendships and social hierarchy are established. So you were left wondering where you would fit in all of that.

You begrudgingly got out of bed and started getting ready. While you were brushing your teeth, you heard your phone vibrate against the surface of your sink. Reading the message, toothbrush still in your mouth, the feeling of sadness sunk in.

It was from one of your best friends from your previous school.

"I hope you enjoy your first day! Wishing you were here rn :("

You agreed wholeheartedly with your friend. You should have been there with the rest of them. Especially because you had known most of them since preschool. If you were starting with them, you wanted to end school with them.

Memories of you and your friends talking about highschool, college, and future careers suddenly flashed in your mind. Shutting off your phone, you resumed your morning routine with the longing to be reunited with your friends.

The car ride to school was silent. Your mom was driving you and attempted small talk, but you immediately shut her down with dry and monotone responses. When you arrived at school, you quickly exited the car.

"Enjoy your first day of school sweetie! I hope you'll forgive me soon." Your mother calls out to you, with a sad smile on her face. It made you feel guilty.

It's not that you didn't want to forgive your parents. You couldn't. As a human being, you understood that your parents were just seeking better opportunities for you. But as their daughter, you felt as if they had flipped your whole world upside down.

"Bye." You quietly reply.

As you watched your mother drive away, you took a deep sigh and turned around to face your new school. Your eyes followed the various other students walking into the school. Most of them surrounded by friends.

'How nice.'

You attempted to navigate through the school, hoping that you would stumble across the principal office– in search of some guidance.

While you were wandering, a girl suddenly came up to you.

"Hi! I've never seen you around before. Are you new?" she gushed. It was so sudden that you felt yourself flinch from the suddenness of it all. You took a moment to take this girl in.

She was beautiful. She had sleek black hair that barely reached past her shoulders and inviting amber eyes that looked at you full of warmth. The girl took your hands into hers.

"My name is Kurokawa Hina. Nice to meet you!" She introduced. You were still recovering from your initial shock of her suddenness. Composing yourself, you muttered out a response.

"Uh, my name is L/n Y/n..."

"Cute! You're in class 3-A right? I heard we were having a new student join us, that must be you."

You nodded at her, as you struggled to formulate a sentence or even a word. She had completely overwhelmed you and threw you off guard–not that this was a bad thing. It filled you with joy, knowing that someone wanted to get to know you.

She gave you a soft smile, before tugging at your hands. "C'mon follow me, I'll show you the classroom and everything else."

You quietly followed her lead, feeling a bit shy–unsure of what to say. Nonetheless, you continued to follow her.

When you arrived at a room, you saw a sign above the door that read '3-A'. Following Hina into the classroom, you stood slightly behind her–hoping to hide away from the multitude of eyes that were about to lay their eyes on you.

Yet, the moment you entered, your eyes immediately landed on a familiar face. It was the guy from the park, sitting in a seat that was in the far back. It was kinda hard to miss him, he had such an attractive face–and unfortunately your eyes were just naturally skilled at identifying these people.

'There's no effing way.'

You were speechless and were so busy staring at him that you didn't notice Hana calling out to you. Until you felt someone touch your arm. Returning back to the moment, you turned to Hana. But there was another person with her, a guy. He had his arm slung around Hana.

"Oh Y/n, this my boyfriend. He's on the football team, so you might see him on the field." She explains.

"Nice to meet you." he greets, extending his hand for you to shake. You simply stare at it hesitantly, before complying and shaking his hand.
"Nice meeting you, too." You replied awkwardly. Hana shooed away her boyfriend, before handing you a paper.

"This is the seating chart." She explained. You nodded, scanning the paper for your name. When you found it, you tilted the paper in Hana's direction–pointing at your name.

"Here. I'm sitting in front of someone named Itoshi Rin." Hana took the paper from you and set it aside. She then pointed at someone in the back.

"That's him, the one with green hair. " Following the direction of her finger, your eyes landed on the boy from the park. Honestly, when you heard Hana describe him as having green hair, you just hoped that there was some other guy with dark green hair in your class besides him. But unfortunately, he was the sole owner of the color.

Almost as if he had a sixth sense, he looked up at Hana–noticing that she was pointing at him. His eyebrows slightly furrowed until his eyes shifted to you, standing right next to her. His eyebrows scrunched even further, a look of annoyance evident on his face.

He must have recognized you. Which surprised you after witnessing his rude behavior, because he seemed like the type of person to not care.

You reciprocated his annoyance. Neither of you broke eye contact for a while, until Hana started tugging you towards his direction.

"I'll introduce you to him, c'mon." She insisted.

"No tha-" You attempted to stop her, but you both were already standing in front of him. He looked really bothered by the presence of you both. The urge to slap that expression off his face was strong. He really got on your nerves and irritated the shit out of you.

"Hi Itoshi! This L/n Y/n. She's gonna sit in front of you. Take care of her for me, kay?"

"No."

"Great! I knew I could count on you. You're the best." Hana gave you a pat on your shoulder before subtly giving you an apologetic look. She walked to her own seat near the front, turning her head back around to give you a wave.

'She just left me. With this jerk. What the frick am I supposed to say?'

You glance at the said jerk, who already went back to whatever he was doing on his phone–attempting to ignore the fact you were there. Taking a seat in front of him, you pulled out your phone so that you would have something else to do besides think about the guy behind you.
As you scrolled on Tiktok hoping to pass time, you leaned back in your seat to feel more comfortable. You continued to mindlessly scroll on your phone, when you heard an irritating voice come from behind you, startling you.

"Your hair. It's all over my desk." You slowly turned around to face the man who was destroying your peaceful atmosphere.

"Do I look like I care? Besides I don't even wanna talk to you, and you decide to scare the shit out of me."

"Not my fault. You're just sensitive."

"Fuck y-" You were interupted by the sound of the door opening, signaling the entrance of your teacher and the start of class. Turning back forward, you made sure to push your hair back over your shoulder so that it would actually cover the desk.
