“One more gin, Bon.” I smiled at the bartender I became friends with.
“Hm, seemed troubled tonight boss.. and the other night.” He chuckles.
“Mhmm, I couldn’t quite get the woman I love.” I chuckled as I took the new glass in front of me.
“Ouch, this upcoming drink is on the house, boss.”
I laughed at him, “thanks, Bon.”
I kept staring at my phone, contemplating whether I should text Haniya about her but she may be asleep at this time of night already.
I felt a hand hold mine, I looked and a woman whom I never met before looked at me with seducing eyes.
“Hi~ you seemed to be quite lonely.”
“I chose to.” I said to her and she sat on the chair beside me just when the man sitting there minutes ago left.
“Hm.” She hums and her eyes look all over me with that smile.
“Are you-”
“Bon, here’s my card.”
“-single?”
I looked at her. “No, my whole body is owned by someone else.”
“I don’t see her here, I’ve been eyeing you since the other night.” She challenges me.
Bon gives me back my card, “Thank you. Have a good night, miss.” I just turned around and went straight to the parking lot.
I sighed, slumping in my car seat.
I shut my eyes, missing h-
A knock on the window made me look. Why’d this woman follow me?
She’s gesturing to me to roll my windows down.
I instead turned the car on and drove away.
Y/n’s POV
“It's been a week now. Is he alright?” Haniya seems worried while she cooks lunch.
It’s like everyday she anticipates for him to knock on our door, well, me too..
“Do you miss having his card?” I tried to be sarcastic and she chuckled.
“That and his presence. Haven’t you felt secure whenever he’s around? Also, the way he shows you that he’s really there for you. Tsk, I hope no other girl has him.”
“I’d actually want that for him, I mean, I can’t give him what he asks, so..” I shrugged my shoulders as I leaned both my elbows on our table.
“What do you mean by that?” She looks at me puzzled.
“W-Well.. he’s a man, Haniya. You’d know that since you have a boyfriend now.”
“Ugh, honestly. That was all fake. He asked me to pretend just to have time for you.”
“Wait what?? So where have you been staying all this time??- no wonder you wouldn’t let me see your man!” I was completely shocked.
“He accommodated me in a hotel everytime. You know your man wouldn’t leave his girl’s bestie behind~”
“Not my man. More so, he wasn’t asking you, wasn’t he? He’s buying your time too. Argh, I can’t believe that man.”
“Hey, there was no harm in that, I actually enjoyed it, you know. Plus, I wanted you to enjoy it. If you weren’t so guarded to him, he’d show you the world.”
“Aish, I like how I am now..”
“Girl, we're both unemployed. The groceries I did for us the other day was the last money he gave me before.”
“And that’s why I don’t want to depend on anyone. Not to worry, I already talked to our neighbor across the street yesterday, I can clean their house tomorrow.”
“It’s not about being dependent, but about someone offering things to you to make it lighter. But you know what, it doesn’t matter. He’s been quiet for so long now, he might as well have found someone new.” She sighs.
I actually get what she’s saying but I’m trying to act like he doesn’t matter.
I just hate the fact that he was so pushy and needy.. but then, the whole week, I eventually missed him.
–
“I’m losing my mind.” Haniya spoke while we’re both laid down in our beds.
“About what.”
“I can’t find a job.” She sighs.
It’s been days and she’s struggling to get any sort of job. Me on the other hand would go around house to house to just advertise myself as a cleaning lady now.
My mind then flew to Jungkook. I sighed.
“Hm, that sigh tells a heavy problem, mind sharing?”
I didn’t realize I sighed out loud.
“Nothing, just tired of today’s work.”
I just then thought of the gold bracelet again that I hid.
I sat up to grab it from the cabinet and gave it to Haniya.
“Are you saying we’ll sell it again?”
Jungkook’s POV
“Uh.. sir, the person’s dead..”
I gave out a last hit on the face before I pant and left the room.
I went straight to shower because I’m getting frustrated the longer I don’t see her.
Weeks have been boring. I should be showing up to her now but I still can’t seem to face her, she must be praying not to see me anymore.
I got out of the shower when I got a call from an unknown number.
“Good morning sir, this is the gold atelier you talked to last time. One of the two women from before seemed to have sold the gold bracelet again.”
Fuck, they must’ve been struggling again. How come Haniya never called me for it?
I felt shitty all over again.
“Thank you for calling, I’ll go over there right now.”
Y/n’s POV
I’m folding my clothes on the bed when I heard the door open and close.
“How’d it go?” I ask without looking.
“Well, here’s the money.”
“You can split it and set it on top of the cabinet, I’ll just finish folding these, thanks.” I sighed, feeling quite guilty.
“How about the bracelet?”
I froze hearing his voice..
I quickly snapped my head and it’s really him standing beside Haniya.
“Uh..”
“I should just.. go out.” Haniya smiled and quickly went out.
I stood up and faced my body towards him.
“You should.. take that back. I could never take care of it.” I felt ashamed.
“I gave this to you so it can take care of you, not the other way around.”
