The moving water soon became a constant rush to Vareyas ears. She had never ridden so fast in her life nor had she ever felt more grateful for the creature she was on. In the desperation of the moment, Vareya decided that the speed of an Ilu was not enough for her. Although she had never attempted to ride one before, never finding it necessary, she figured now would be worth it.

Finding a skimwing, a difficult creature that takes time to master, she jumped on it with zero hesitance. When it refused her bond, she decided that drastic times called for drastic measures. In a hurry, Vareya used her hunting knife to drive it into the skimmings eye and it cried and thrashed from the pain. Although struggling to hold onto the panicked tsurak, she held on well enough to leave him like that for a few moments. When she decided he had enough, she laid her hand on the wound and healed it completely. It was only then that the stubborn skimwing respected her and abided to anything she asked.

For example when she urged the creature onwards, he surpassed her expectations. The wind howled in her ears whenever they would exit the waters surface, whipping through her damp braids as salt sprayed against her face. Vareya leaned forward, gripping the reins of her skimwing tighter, her muscles tensed with urgency. The creature beneath her sliced through the waves with powerful strokes, its sleek, scaled body gliding over the water as if it were part of it, a remarkable and noticeable difference to an Ilu. The bond between them pulsed strong through the tsaheylu, her unspoken command clear. Faster.

The skimwing shrieked in response, flaring its fins as it surged ahead, diving beneath a rising  wave before breaking through the surface once more. Vareya's breath came in quick bursts, her heart hammering in her chest. The message from Jake had been rushed, fragmented, but the moment she heard Neteyams involvement, fear had gripped her like a vine.

Anyone but him. Anyone but the person who held her heart.

Thanks to the speed in which they traveled, although Vareya left much later than the rest of the clan, they arrived only moments after. And while the adrenaline and thought of him powered her past her fear, she would be lying if she claimed the sight of the massive enemy ship didn't send a chill down her spine. It was much larger than she ever could've imagined, much more intimidating. If a machine not even half the size of this one caused so much damage all those years ago, what could these demons be capable of now...

Vareya swallowed hard, shaking the thought away. She could not afford doubt. Not now. She scanned the horizon, searching desperately. Several dozens of Metkayina soldiers looked out towards the ship from a distance. They were all waiting for orders, weapons and creatures ready to attack when told to. Looking at the ship, several outlines of bodies, Na'vi and demons alike, were seen. Yet she was too far to make out who it was, too far to know if any of them were whom she was looking for. Diving into the water silently, she situated herself just below where Jake was set beside her Uncle and Ronal, Neytiri suspiciously no where in sight.

Their Father was looking out onto the dock through the large weapon in hand, one she learned was a gun. Even though being underwater made the noise above muffled, she could still make out what was being said.

" They got our kids." Vareya held back from heading  directly to the ship after his words, but refrained as he continued on, " Your daughter."

Ronal and Tonowari instantly snarled as a reply, but all that mattered to Vareya was his next words, " Tuk. Lo'ak."

She stayed still, making sure she didn't miss anything else, didn't miss any other name. Yet when his conversation began with someone else through their comms, she swam away to hide behind a rock and get some air. Hidden for now, she did her best to control her breathing.
