The world outside was chaotic, their enemies lurking in the shadows, betrayal hanging in the air like an unsolved mystery. But here, in this quiet, dimly lit room, time seemed to stand still.

Jennie sat on the edge of the bed, brushing her damp hair back after a long, exhausting day. The weight of their recent discoveries, the carefully laid traps to unmask the traitor—it all rested heavily on her shoulders.

She didn't hear Taehyung enter at first. It wasn't until she felt the warmth of his presence behind her, the faint rustling of his shirt as he moved closer, that she realized he was there.

Then, without a word, he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, pulling her back against his chest.

Jennie sighed at the comforting hold, allowing herself to melt into him. "You're awfully quiet today," she murmured, resting her hands over his.

Taehyung hummed, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Just… watching you."

Jennie chuckled softly, tilting her head slightly so she could meet his gaze. "What’s so interesting?"

His lips curled into a small smirk. "Everything."

There was no possessiveness this time, no burning jealousy or underlying tension—just warmth. A kind of peace they rarely got to share.

Taehyung leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to the curve of her neck. Jennie shivered slightly, though it had nothing to do with the cold.

"You need to rest," he murmured against her skin.

Jennie scoffed lightly. "You do too."

He exhaled, tightening his arms around her. "I will… after you."

Jennie turned in his embrace, wrapping her arms around his neck. She studied him for a moment, tracing her fingers lightly over his jawline. "Sometimes, I forget you're the same man who drives me insane," she teased.

Taehyung arched a brow. "I think you secretly like it."

Jennie laughed, shaking her head. "Maybe."

Their noses brushed, and before either of them could think too much, Taehyung leaned in, capturing her lips in a soft, slow kiss. It was different from the fiery passion they usually shared—this was gentle, lingering, filled with something deeper than desire.

Jennie sighed into the kiss, her fingers threading through his soft hair. Taehyung pulled her closer, pressing her fully against him as if trying to memorize the way she felt in his arms.

When they finally pulled apart, Taehyung rested his forehead against hers.

"We don’t get moments like this often," he admitted.

Jennie nodded, running her fingers along the collar of his shirt. "Then let’s make the most of it."

With that, she tugged him onto the bed with her, wrapping herself around him as they lay there, tangled in warmth, in quiet laughter, in the simple joy of being close.

For now, just for this moment, there was no war, no revenge, no betrayals.

Just them.
