Chapter 248: The Suffering Trolls

Start from the beginning

Another burly troll warlord stood up, grumbling as he called his troops and charged out swiftly.

Having learned from Barnes' example, he dared not delay.

Hunter looked displeased as he eyed the tents being set up, and a strange thought suddenly crossed his mind:

"If Barnes were here, he would have taken care of this long ago, right?"

"No, that bastard dared to run away and become a traitor; he must be severely punished."

"Those guys sneak attack at night; they are no match for us in a frontal fight."

"Since you dare to act at night, why shouldn't we?"

"Hmph...!"

As Hunter was racking his brains for a strategy, Baturu, leading a group of troll hunters, charged toward the familiar hunting grounds.

However, when he arrived, the entire troll was stunned.

The cattle, sheep, and horses that once roamed in herds,

were now sparse; hardly any could be seen.

His mind buzzed, but remembering the priest's methods, he forced himself to stay calm.

He was completely different from Barnes.

That guy only had himself to worry about, was strong, and was a troll hunter by trade.

Even if Barnes never returned to the troll tribe and lived on his own, he could still live comfortably.

But Baturu, with many mouths to feed, couldn't afford to lose everything, so he had to complete the mission.

Suddenly, he thought:

"Even though there aren't enough prey here to feed tens of thousands of trolls, it's definitely enough for us..."

After figuring it out, Baturu gritted his teeth and shouted:

"Hurry up, take them all down, catch as many as you can!"

The troll hunters, who saw through the situation, were no fools and immediately started hunting at full speed.

As long as they were fed!

Who cares if the other trolls starve?

Besides, they didn't get along well anyway; fighting among each other was common!

In this situation, the troll hunters disregarded hunting rules and swept the nearby hunting grounds clean.

By the time they returned to the camp with their prey, the other troll hunting teams were just setting out.

They even sneered maliciously and didn't bother warning the others.

That would be seeking death!

Soon, the pale-faced troll hunting teams had no choice but to rush back and head to other hunting grounds.

An entire hour passed.

The other teams returned to the restless troll camp with only a few scraps of prey; it wasn't nearly enough.

Soon, they started arguing and then directly fighting each other.

Hundreds of trolls died in the clashes.

Then, their cold-hearted comrades feasted on their remains.

Finally, all the trolls were full.

Watching this scene in silence, Yaya couldn't help but curl her lips in disgust and said with a shiver:

"These trolls are disgusting, even stranger than the ones in Troll Valley."

Matthew saw the actions of the troll priests, patted her head, and after organizing his thoughts, continued:

"They've been brainwashed, losing all sense of self and consciousness; they're nothing but fallen beasts now."

"This is why you shouldn't trust evil gods. They only need mindless food."

"Whether it's killing more people or dying early, it all satisfies them!"

Nodding thoughtfully, Yaya, having learned about the existence of Taiji, had gained enough understanding of these evil gods, entirely free from the awe in her bloodline memories.

Her eyes rolled slightly, and she curiously pointed at the trolls who were eyeing each other angrily:

"Why don't they all just share a little? That way, no one has to starve!"

Thoughts flashed through Matthew's mind, and he replied briefly and with difficulty:

"Because, outside of our Bay Territory, all resources are distributed by personal will!"

"In our Bay Territory, it's decided by the two of us, the future system, contributions, and the golems!"

"As long as we remain unchanged, everyone can live well and unleash their strongest fighting power!"
