Taylor raised an eyebrow before pushing me gently aside of the stole so we both could fit on it. Immediately I covered the first sentences, but Taylor grapped both of my wrists, to lift them.
"You're writing an essay about the poetry of one of my songs?" She asked, the sightly part of the amusement in her voice, was barely noticeable due to the suprise which overlapped it.
"I- uhm... yeah...? But I can take a different song from another artist", I chuckled nervously. Taylor bursted out into laughter before wrapping an arm around me.
"No no no, we'll write it together", she chuckled. And with that we started writing. Three pages and an hour later we finally finished.
"That was fun", Taylor said with a soft smile, while looking down into my eyes. "Yeah it wa...", I started but during my sentence, her ocean blue eyes devoured me and took every word out of me.
Slowly we both leaned closer to connect our lips. It was a short kiss, but every kiss we shared in her bathroom wasn't comparable to this one.
Taylor smiled as she leaned back and whispered: "I'm just getting color back into my face."
We've only known each other for a week now, but I felt connected to her. Loved. Seen.
I wasn't the waitress anymore. I wasn't just a college student anymore. I was the one who brought color back into her face.
It was to early for the L-Word. I mean we had no real date.
"Do you wanna go out with me?" This wasn't the possessive Taylor I saw when we first met. This was her real form. A nice —also a bit shy— version, she kept from the world.
"I would love to", I chuckled, before sliding swiftly onto her lap.
"We could do it tonight. Sitting in your garden on a blanket? Eating snack, drinking wine while we watch the stars?" I offered. Taylors eyes lighten up.
"I... I've always dreamed of doing this on a date", she admitted. "Than your dreams will come true", I responded.
And for a moment we just sat there, her arms wrapped protectively around my waist like the silence which flew through the room.
----
Taylor and I were sitting in her garden. Well, I was sitting—Taylor was lying with her head resting on my thighs, her golden hair spilling over my lap like silk.
She gazed up at me, her emerald eyes shimmering with something deeper than admiration—adoration. I let my fingers weave through her hair, twirling a strand between them, feeling the softness that matched the warmth in her gaze.
“You’re beautiful,” Taylor murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. “I swear, you glow more than the stars.”
Heat rose to my cheeks, but before I could respond, she sat up, her delicate hands reaching for mine.
Gently, she guided me down onto the soft blanket. We lay together, side by side, our bodies close, her arm draped over my waist. The rhythm of her breathing matched mine as our fingers intertwined between us.
“I could stare at you forever,” she admitted, turning to face me fully. The moonlight kissed her features, making her look almost ethereal. “But even that wouldn’t be long enough.”
----
Taylor and I had been on 13 dates the past month. Today she was staying at my apartment.
The moment I walked through the front door, she wrapped me into her warm arms and pulled me closer.
"There's my favourite girl", the blonde one said in awe. Before I could say something, she planted tender kisses all over my face, making me giggle.
And then there was the moment again. The moment we got lost in each others eyes.
For a moment neither of us dared to break the heavy, yet comforting silence. But then I cleared my throat.
"I... I love you Taylor."
Taylor was still.
One second passed.
Then another.
Taylor’s hands trembled slightly as they cupped my face, her thumbs tracing gentle circles on my cheeks.
“You love me?” she whispered, like she was savoring the words, letting them sink into every fiber of her being.
I nodded, my heart pounding. “I do.”
A slow, radiant smile spread across her lips before she let out a soft chuckle. “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for you to say that.”
She took a deep breath, as if steadying herself for something, then she pulled back just slightly, still holding my hands in hers.
"Y/N," she started, her voice filled with that signature warmth, the kind that made people feel like home, "I have a question for you."
I tilted my head, my pulse quickening. "Okay?"
Taylor took a step back, and suddenly, she was looking at me with that mischievous glint I’d seen a million times in interviews and performances—the look of a woman about to say something unforgettable.
"You know how in Enchanted, I sing, ‘This night is sparkling, don’t you let it go’?" she asked, her lips curving into a soft smile.
I let out a breathless laugh, nodding. “Of course.”
She took another step closer, her hands now resting on my waist. “Well… I don’t want this night to be just another moment. I don’t want us to be just another chapter. I want us to be the whole damn love story.”
My breath hitched.
“So, Y/N…” she exhaled, searching my face like I was her favorite lyric, “will you be my girlfriend?”
It felt like the world had stilled, like we were the only two people that existed. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much, my chest bursting with something indescribable.
“Yes,” I whispered, then stronger, “Yes, Taylor. A million times, yes.”
A relieved laugh bubbled from her lips before she swept me into a kiss.
"I love you too", Taylor whispered against my lips.
