Hailey had messaged me asking to come over and bake, as much as I hated to admit it- I wasn't a great baker so I wasn't completely sure how to help but I still agreed.

Hey princess! I say as the door opened, I kiss her quickly before taking my shoes off and walking in. It was currently winter and Hailey decided that baking cookies would be fun.

"Okay so I saw this really good recipe on TikTok and I thought we could try it?" She smiles showing me the video.

We begin baking it and it we quickly become frantic.

"No Jake stop that's the salt not sugar!" Hailey frowns swatting my hand from picking up the salt jar. She sighs and I stand there awkwardly.

"Okay um.. can you mix it up please? Then we can put it in the oven" she sighs. "Hey..I'm sorry and yeah I'll do that!" I say. She just flashes me a tired smile before lining the pan up.

After mixing the batter we form small balls and place them onto the tray.

"Okay! Now we put it in the oven..can you set it to 160 Celsius?" She asks putting a few bowls into the sink.

I nod and pop the pan into the oven then setting the temperature for 260..that's what she said right? I turn around about to clarify when I notice Hailey looking quite annoyed. I decide it wasn't a good idea to ask and stick to 260.

I walk over to Hailey seeing what she was up too. "Did you put it in the oven?" She asks looking up from her phone. "Yeah! Of course don't worry!" I say grinning.

"Im gonna go to the bathroom I'll be back" she says walking towards the toilet leaving me alone.

I play on my phone waiting for her to come back when I hear a quiet crackling sound. I look out the window and see nothing so I turn back to my game just as Hailey comes back.

"Hey- JAKE CRAP! THE OVEN!!" She screams running towards it. I turn around and see the baking paper lit with fire in the oven.

"OH CRAP UHH WHAT DO WE DO?" I ask frantically "DO YOU HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER??"

She runs past me to the sink and fills up a bowl of water "JAKE OPEN THE OVEN SLIGHTLY" she yells. I open it partly and she throws the massive bowl of water onto the burning cookies and the fire goes out.

"Thank god." I mumble. "What temperature did you set it?" She asks sounding quite annoyed. "Oh um 260?" I mumble sounding unsure "JAKE WHAT THE HELL?" She screams. "I SAID 160 NOT 260!!!" She cries out.

"I'm sorry Hailey!! I really didn't mean to!!" I say getting panicked.

"I- it's..it's fine Jake." She sighs sounding done. She walks over to the bench and flops done onto the chair looking tired and upset.

"T-that's it? Your not gonna get mad at me?" I ask.

"What's the use..?" She frowns. I stay quiet not sure what to say before breaking the silence "I'm really sorry Hailey I miss heard you." I say rubbing the back of my neck.

"Do you ever think our relationship is toxic..?" She quietly mumbles. "What! No Hailey why would you think that?" I ask.

"Look at Zander, luke, Sean and Daisy! They are seem like the perfect couples. Sure they fight but it's always small things... I mean we fight all the time!" She says, looking like she was about to cry.

"No Hailey. Fights are a natural thing about relationships. And remember me and you are much different then the others, coming into this relationship we were bound to fight a lot but fights help address the issues and concerns that need to be talked about. Sure lots and lots of fights that are extremely bad are toxic but we always manage to solve the fights eventually! Remember, the others might also have small disagreements or fights in private and we wouldn't know which is why we can't compare our relationship with theirs okay?" I pull her into a hug and she just wraps her arms around me gently.

"I know..I'm just worried.." she whispers. "What truely maters is that I love you lots and I always will okay?" I kiss her forehead and she smiles.

"Now.. do you wanna try and re make the cookies? I'm sure we can do it!" I grin. "Okay let's do it!" She says sounding excited.

After another attempt we finally finish making the cookies without starting another fire and we sit on the couch together eating the delicious cookies.

"Thank you Jake." Hailey looks up from my shoulder. I smile and pull her closer.

"Hey you got some chocolate on your nose!" She says "huh I do?" I ask

She kisses my nose and I laugh. "You didn't actually have chocolate there by the way."

"Omg you cheeky!" I laugh.

Yay hope you like it! I actually wasn't gonna post today but I js randomly write another so yay :D

Prob won't post for a few days tho bc I have soo much assignments and extracurricular stuff going on but I'll try if I can :3
