The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the hallways as Gaeun and the others rushed upstairs after Ms. Lee informed them that they would now have their own study group room."Let’s go," Gamin said, leading the way without hesitation.
Gaeun groaned as she followed. "Why does our school have so many floors but no elevators?" she muttered.
"Stop complaining and hurry up," Jun said, giving her a slight push from behind.
"Yah, don’t push me!" she snapped, glaring at him.
Sehyun chuckled. "Gamin, you know where you're going, right?" he asked.
"Seventh floor," Gamin replied confidently.
Seventh floor. Of course.
By the time they reached the top, all of them were already panting. Gaeun bent over, resting her hands on her knees. "I hate this school," she wheezed.
Gamin, however, seemed completely fine. He walked straight to the storage room door and swung it open. Immediately, a thick cloud of dust billowed out, filling their nostrils.
"So dusty," Jiwoo muttered, waving her hand in front of her face.
Gamin stepped inside first, using his elbow to cover his nose. The moment they saw the inside, a collective silence fell over the group.
The room was dark, messy, and covered in cobwebs. The smell of stale cigarettes clung to the air, making Gaeun scrunch her nose in disgust.
Jun stared blankly. "Hey… is this really it?"
"Geez, are you kidding me?" Jiwoo said, looking around like she was in a horror movie.
Gamin, however, seemed completely unfazed. He stepped forward, resting a hand on his chest. "I'm nervous," he muttered.
Sehyun frowned. "What?"
Instead of answering, Gamin walked to the center of the room and pointed at the empty space. "We'll put a desk and have our meetings here." Then, he turned to the window, where broken blinds hung pathetically. "We'll put a list of plans there." He smiled to himself. "I love it."
From beside Gaeun, Jiwoo stared at Gamin like he had lost his mind. "We're seeing the same thing right now, right?" she whispered.
Sehyun nodded. "No. He’s in a different dimension now. A completely different dimension."
Heewon beamed, stepping past them. "Excuse me," she said, walking towards the window.
Gaeun sighed and followed, stepping cautiously over the mess. "I don’t know what you guys see in this place, but it just looks dirty to me."
Jun, ever the troublemaker, reached out and touched the blinds. The second his fingers made contact, the entire thing collapsed, sending another wave of dust flying through the air.
Everyone coughed violently.
"How are we going to study here?" Jiwoo whined, rubbing her eyes.
"This isn’t a study group room," Jun declared.
Gamin, still smiling, remained unfazed. "It will be."
Heewon clapped her hands together. "Should we start by cleaning, then?" she asked, excited.
Gaeun groaned. "Do we have to?"
Jiwoo crossed her arms. "It’s either that or we let Gamin drag us into his ‘vision.’"
