Kaerith had been avoiding them.
Knockout had noticed first-of course he had. Kaerith was always busy, always working, always on some mission or another, but this was different. This was intentional.
And Knockout didn't appreciate being ignored.
"He thinks he can just keep going without a break," Knockout huffed, arms crossed as he leaned against the Nemesis' medbay counter. "As if he isn't one bad battle away from keeling over."
Breakdown, sitting across from him, nodded in agreement. "I told him to take it easy after that last mission. You saw how banged up he was, right? He just brushed me off."
Knockout's optics gleamed with mischief. "Well, if he won't listen to reason..." He tapped a sharp digit against his chin. "We'll just make him."
Breakdown grinned. "I like the sound of that."
-------------------
Kaerith was not in the mood for this.
He had just finished running system checks after his latest mission, his joints still aching from a fight that had lasted longer than expected. He wanted to rest-he really did-but on his own terms.
Unfortunately, that was not happening.
Breakdown and Knockout had cornered him the moment he stepped into the main hall.
Kaerith narrowed his optics. "What do you two want?"
Knockout tsked, stepping into his space, looking him over with a critical gaze. "You, darling, are in desperate need of some proper care."
Kaerith's plating bristled slightly. "I'm fine."
Breakdown crossed his arms. "No, you're not."
Kaerith sighed. "I don't have time for this."
Knockout smirked. "That's where you're wrong. We already cleared your schedule for the rest of the cycle."
Kaerith's optics flickered in suspicion. "What did you do?"
Breakdown shrugged. "Just told Megatron you needed to recharge after the last mission. He agreed."
Kaerith blinked. Megatron agreed? That was unexpected.
Knockout's smirk widened. "So, since you're officially off duty, you're coming with us. No arguments."
Kaerith narrowed his optics. "And if I say no?"
Breakdown grinned. "Then I carry you."
Kaerith knew Breakdown would do it. And Knockout would be insufferable about it.
"...Fine," he grumbled.
Knockout clapped his servos together. "Now that's the right answer."
-------------------
Somehow, Kaerith found himself stretched out in Knockout's personal repair bay, forced into a mandatory maintenance session.
Knockout hummed as he carefully ran a buffer over Kaerith's plating, smoothing out dents and scratches with an almost obnoxious amount of care. Breakdown sat beside them, leaning against the table, his servo resting lightly on Kaerith's arm, keeping him grounded.
It was... nice.
Annoying, yes, but nice.
Knockout grinned. "See? This isn't so bad, is it?"
Kaerith sighed, optics flickering offline for a moment. "I hate that you're right."
Breakdown chuckled. "You'll get used to it."
And Kaerith had a feeling he would.
Because as much as he resisted, as much as he told himself he didn't need this...
It was really hard to argue when they were both taking such good care of him.
