Eve's pov
Undisclosed location

I fought as hard as I could manage in my drugged state, but couldn't avoid the mask Joker was slowly moving toward my face forever.

He closed the last couple of inches in a rush, and I barely had any time to take a breath of clean air before the mask was secured over my face. "Oh, don't worry Evie dear. This is a diluted dose of my Joker Venom. You won't die but the laughing won't stop for a few hours either." As he backed up I tried to activate my aura, but it only flashed weakly before sputtering out. Thankfully Bruce had trained me several years ago to hold my breath for several minutes, but I had a feeling this mask wasn't going to come off until I was howling with forced, maniacal laughter.

Joker didn't seem to like what I was doing but he simply crossed his arms and watched me, smirking the whole time.

I felt the seconds slowly tick by as the burn in my lungs increased. The need to take a breath slowly becoming impossible to resist. As I felt the urge reach a peak I knew I couldn't resist I thrashed around one last time to try and get the stupid mask off my face. Unfortunately Joker knew what he was doing and the mask stayed firmly fixed in place.

I let out a massive gasp as I hit my limit and sucked in a truly unhealthy amount of Joker's gas. I tried to fight the urge to laugh but several giggles escaped, each one making holding the next one in astronomically more difficult as I inhaled more and more of the gas.

It wasn't long before I was howling in laughter, my body racked with spasms as I continuously tried and failed to hold in the laughs. I could feel the tears streaming down my face and could only image what I looked like to the rest of the Team right now.

Eventually Joker came up to me and removed the mask, but by that point I could barely tell up from down due to lack of breath. My laughing fit instantly calmed down enough that I could draw a semi-decent breath of fresh air; which only helped to bring my laughter further under control. "I... hate... you," I ground out as firmly as possible to the monster parading as a man while fighting my giggles.

He stared at me for a moment with a surprisingly calm face, before his infamous grin reappeared and he roughly grabbed my face. "I'd be disappointed if you didn't," he whispered to me, and flicked out a knife. He forced my jaws apart and stuck the blade in my mouth, not cutting anything yet, but the threat was clear. "I wonder if Richie boy would take you back if I made you look more like me?" My eyes widened in fear as he slowly brought the blade to the inside of my quivering cheek. Right as the blade sliced through the first bit of flesh in my mouth I heard Harley speak up from behind him.

"Umm, Mister J? I know you don't like people ruinin' your fun, but we were asked tah bring her 'unharmed'. We can write off the gas as a way to keep her from usin' those rings ah hers, but carving a smile in her face would be crossin' the line wouldn' it?"

Joker's expression soured but he thankfully removed the knife from my mouth, though I could still taste a bit of blood. "You're right Harley. How did I forget that?" He slapped his forehead, much like I'd seen M'gann do in the past. "Oh well. Looks like your smile will remain completely natural for a while longer Evie baby." He walked away, throwing an order over his shoulder. "Harley, pack her up. This episode is over."

The woman walked up to me and slowly undid my restraints. "Why... do you... follow him?"

She looked up at me, then over her shoulder with an almost longing expression, "love'll make you do crazy things sweetie."
