"If it wasn't official before then let me say it now," I started as Dad and I flew away from the ruined planet the Red Lanterns called home, "I hate Atrocitus. I hate Ysmault. I really hate Bleez. And if I ever have to go back there it'd better be because someone I care about is dying."

Dad didn't respond, but a side glance revealed him smirking at me from the corner of his eye.

"Shut up."

"I didn't say anything."

"Your face was so loud I guess I mistook it for your voice."

"Ouch. To think my own daughter would say such a thing to me. I'm hurt," he finished with a small pout.

"Puh-lease, the only thing I hurt was your ego, and that's so big it could survive a few dozen hits."

"Wow. Someone's entered their snarky teenage phase."

"Dad, I've been a teenager for six years, I'm about to graduate high school as Salutatorian at worst, and I've been a superhero for half my life. I think I get to be a little snarky with you."

He just silently nodded and, with a mumbled, "touché," threw open a portal to Oa.

We flew through and, upon landing, I shifted my suit into the tri-color fusion suit I'd acquired when Dad gave me back my green ring. "Remind me why we're coming here now of all times? I thought the idea was that I'd get a check up and progress check after we'd visited Ysmault and Qward."

"Oh, that's still the plan. But while there are quite a few ways to get to Qward, the easiest is to ask the Guardians to open a portal directly there."

"And they agreed to?"

"Begrudgingly, but yeah."

"Sounds about right."

We kept walking in silence as we made our way to the Guardians's council chamber. However, as we neared a turn in the hallway a massive hand slapped my back and I was thrown forward, slamming into the wall. "Good tah see ya kid! How you doing?"

I plopped onto my back and raised my chin to look behind me. "Hi Kilowog."

"I'd be doing a bit better if you hadn't tried to give me a free chiropractor's appointment just now," I responded, flipping onto my stomach before pushing myself up

"I'd be doing a bit better if you hadn't tried to give me a free chiropractor's appointment just now," I responded, flipping onto my stomach before pushing myself up.

"Ah, you'll get used to it," he waved off. "Heard you got your green ring back a little early."

I nodded and lifted my right hand to show him the three rings powering my current suit. "Yep. Not a moment too soon either."

He smiled at me and nodded, then turned to Dad, "so what's up Poozer? Where're you two headed?"

"Council chamber. We've got business on Qward."
