Mi Yue couldn't help but ask, "Your English is...this good?"
"I actually scored full marks in English recently, it even trended on the internet. Didn't you see?" Tang Tang put away her phone and asked him with a smile.
He had seen it, but he never believed it.
He thought they were on the same level, but the moment she opened her mouth, it became clear they weren't even in the same league.
Mi Yue felt a bit dejected, but then quickly cheered up. Just a moment ago, he was worried about how the two of them, both language-challenged, would manage to find a place to stay. But now, he had nothing to worry about!
Mi Yue didn't mind at all and happily followed behind Tang Tang, even generously helping her with her luggage. Together, they got into a car and headed to the villa they had arranged. As he watched his new companion converse fluently in a language he couldn't understand, Mi Yue couldn't help but think that Tang Tang's English sounded really pleasant—she was even more impressive than he had imagined.
They huddled together, looking for fun places to visit in Wellington. Afterward, Tang Tang asked the driver about local attractions.
The driver was enthusiastic and gave Tang Tang a lot of information, which she quickly jotted down in neat English letters on a piece of paper.
Sigh, he wished his English could be that good.
Hotels were too expensive and spread out, so the places Mi Yue found were all bed-and-breakfasts. When they arrived, the owner warmly welcomed them. They quickly inspected the two-story villa with its four bedrooms, kitchen, and bathrooms—everything was in good condition.
The production team had chosen the youngest participants to handle these arrangements, expecting them to make mistakes and create drama. But Tang Tang, wanting to use this show to improve her image, was meticulous with every detail. Mi Yue, though he seemed carefree, was actually quite thoughtful. As a newcomer, he was worried about the seniors being dissatisfied, so he took his responsibilities very seriously.
After thoroughly checking that everything was in order, they immediately headed back to the airport to pick up the remaining guests.
Aside from Yan Yan, who had another commitment and would arrive the next day, the remaining guests were arriving in two groups: one at 4:00 PM and another at 10:00 PM.
There was no need for both of them to go to the airport twice—it would be tiring and take up too much space. So, Tang Tang and Mi Yue agreed to split up the task. When Mi Yue saw Bai Chen was on the 10:00 PM flight, he remembered all the rumors online and figured Tang Tang would definitely choose the 10:00 PM slot.
But he couldn't just say that outright, so he asked her, "We'll split the pickup.
Which time do you want?"
"Four o'clock," Tang Tang replied without hesitation after glancing at the schedule. "Is that okay?"
Tang Tang chose the 4:00 PM slot without a second thought, leaving Mi Yue momentarily stunned. He had been about to ask if she didn't want to pick up Bai Chen, but seeing the cameras all around, he shut his mouth quickly.
"Of course, it's fine."
Tang Tang nodded, grabbed her phone, and headed out the door.
She picked the 4:00 PM slot because Bai Chen wouldn't be there, so she wouldn't have to deal with him. Plus, she didn't like going out late at night.
Tang Tang preferred to get things done early. Back in high school, she would always finish her winter break homework within a few days so she could relax afterward.
