"I rather stay here."
"Come on buddy, follow these ladies and gentlemen now. You should be grateful."
"One prison for another," he just said. The policeman turned to us.
"Brawling teens these days." He walked into the cell and pulled Benjamin up from the floor, who angrily slapped his hands away.
"Get off me!"
"Are you sure you want to take care of this one?" the police huffed, and I scowled. It was clear how he wasn't exactly fond of young troublemakers.
"No doubt," I just said before I nodded for the others to help out. Meg and Alex went in to bring Benjamin with them and in a cluster, we walked towards the door.
We took no chances. Otto, Angus, Josie and Jack waited outside to prevent Benjamin from escaping if he would try something. His eyes widened in fear, and he hesitated before Meg helped him into the back seat of my SUV. I got behind the wheel.
She and Alex sat on either side of him while Jack took the passenger seat. Too many alphas in a car would definitely scare Benjamin. But there was no doubt that it was an awkward journey home.
"Why can't you just leave me alone?" he hissed, refusing to meet anyone's eyes."Because you don't let those poor humans be." Benjamin huffed.
"Not your business."
"Like I've told you more than once now, in fact it is," I just said. "We can't let you run wild and cause harm."
"So, you're going to lock me in your fucking house to keep me from the outside world? A prison for another?"
"We want to help you and keep you safe," Alex tried but then he just laughed raw.
"No, you think you can keep me locked up and ruin my life even more! But you can't keep me locked up forever!"
"Let's head home so we can talk properly," I just answered calmly.
"You can't force me. I'll rip all your heads off!"
"You can always try," Jack surprisingly sassed. Benjamin glared at him.
"And who are you? His pet puppy?!"
"He's funny," Jack laughed, turning back to Benjamin. "Where did you find your humour?"
"Puny beta," he hissed. "I'll rip your arms off!"
"Like the dog's leg?"
"I'll end you!"
"I understand if your pack abandoned you because you are too,"
"Jack!" Meg burst.
"You know nothing!" Benjamin hissed, gritting his teeth. "Fuck off!"
"Calm down everyone," I said sternly.
In the corridors under the foundation of the house, there is a part under the east wing in which we have some old cells for these kinds of occasions when we stumble over troublemakers or must keep someone at a safe distance from harming themselves or others. It has never happened during my time as an alpha that we've used the cells, but I remember how dad told me about an aggressive shifter years ago when he was young who they had to keep down there who broke one of the shifter laws. The mighty five had then come to handle the matter.
So, we rarely used those old prison-like cells, them being old remains from another time in the estate. And it felt a bit barbaric to put Benjamin there. Especially since we have rooms like the room Ryan spent his first days in as a wolf. Those rooms have bolted windows and doors to prevent anyone from escaping but were usually more homely than these cells.
