I didn't even remember how I went to sleep after returning back to the apartment. They had texted me after reaching their hotel and also, instructed me to check twice if my doors were safely locked.
The next day began with me telling lie as the first thing in the morning.
Me: I have some works to do. So, I won't be going to college.
Roshni: Oh. Okay. will miss you babe 😢
Zara: Bitch 😭 I miss you!!!
(this is their actual way of replying to me everyday...these two girls are real in my life tho)
Sunoo had texted me that they would come to my apartment to pick me up and even if I wanted to say that they didn't have to drive all the way here and then again had to go to a very different route from here to our destination. They didn't listen to me.
But, I was a bit thankful that I didn't have to run after buses to reach somewhere and then meet them. I had even tried to tell them that we could directly meet at the place we were going to explore but Sunoo was not agreeing with it.
He just sent me a last message: 'We will be waiting by the side lane in front of your apartment by 10 a.m. See you soon, Anvi' 😊
I glanced at the wall clock, almost to be 8 in the morning and without getting off the bed, I laid back down on my back and stretched my hands before hugging the pillow, turned around and closed my eyes, trying to fall asleep again but the sudden ringing from my phone made me groan in frustration.
I blindly searched for it from beside my pillow and pressed it to my ear, "hello." I sleepily mumbled.
"Are you still sleeping?" My mother's voice echoed in the early morning.
I pout and hummed, "Yeah...the morning class is not there and then I have to complete some assignments. Let me sleep."
"I just wanted to make sure that you're not sleeping away the whole day and atleast using the day in some useful work. What did you eat last night? Did you even eat, Anvi?"
Oh my goodness. Her never-ending questions.
"Mumma, I had bought some ready to eat from the store and I have eaten every single meal because I am a human and I feel hungry...I don't want to talk so much in the morning...please..." I whined into the call.
She scolded me at first and then after instructing me about the whole day, she cut the call. I placed the phone beside me and tried to close my eyes when a message popped up on the phone.
Aryan: Are you going to submit the assignment today?
God, I should just wake up and start getting ready. Nobody is going to let me sleep. And, before that I needed to reply him back.
Me: Nope. I'm not going to college. I'll submit it tomorrow. The last part is only left.
Biting on my lower lip, I waited for his reply. If Enhypen was not there in the scene right now then I would have jumped out of the bed and was eager to run to college just to get some time to talk to him more.
It's okay...maybe after Puja vacation...everything will be back to normal again.
Aryan: okay. See you tomorrow. Take care!
The sunlight streaming through the windows of the apartment cast a golden hue across the marble floor, making everything feel soft and dreamy. I stood in front of the mirror, dabbing on a bit of lip tint, then paused—my fingers brushing against the collar of my top as I tilted my head. I wasn't dressed up like for a date or anything... but there was still a nervous fluttering in my chest that refused to go away. I told myself I was just going to spend the day out with friends. That's all.
