( obsessed? me? )
Lunchtime – Haneul High cafeteria
Minji stabbed her lunch like it had personally offended her.
Asha was watching her with the same exhausted expression she wore every time Minji went into one of her "I hate him so much I hope he gets food poisoning" rants.
"So you're mad... that he got all the answers right," Asha said slowly, poking at her rice. "Again?"
Minji didn't even look up. "I'm mad that he smirked. He knows what he's doing."
"That boy literally just breathed."
"No. He breathed arrogantly."
Asha sighed so hard her soul left her body for a second. "Min, please. I am begging you to just admit you like him so we can move on with our lives."
"I would rather be hit by a lunch tray."
"You might, if you keep stabbing your kimchi like that."
Minji finally looked up, and right on cue—
SLAM.
Woonhak slid into the seat directly across from Asha, tray wobbling dangerously. His eyes were way too bright for someone who was about to eat fried fish.
"Hey," he said, with the most awkward grin known to man. "Cool hair today."
Asha blinked. "Thanks?"
Minji side-eyed him and then Asha, whispering, "Don't encourage him."
"I didn't even do anything," Asha muttered.
Woonhak grinned wider. "I mean, not that it isn't cool every day. But like, extra cool today. The curls are curlin', you know?"
Minji covered her mouth to muffle a laugh. Asha, to her credit, kept a straight face.
"So," Woonhak tried again, nervously fiddling with his chopsticks. "What conditioner do you use?"
Asha blinked.
Minji stared at him like he was a live drama.
"...Excuse me?" Asha asked.
"For your hair. It looks soft. Not that I want to, like, touch it or anything—unless you want me to—NOT that you would—uh—"
Minji burst out laughing.
Asha tilted her head. "Kim Woonhak. Are you flirting with me or writing a Yelp review?"
He turned bright red. "I just think you're cool, okay?!"
And then, as if summoned by the chaotic energy, Taesan walked into the cafeteria.
Minji's face dropped immediately.
"Oh god," she whispered. "He's wearing that dumb jacket again. The navy blue one. The one that makes him look stupidly perfect and warm and huggable—UGH."
Asha gave her the driest stare in the universe. "Do you want me to call a therapist or should we just keep pretending this is normal?"
Minji slumped over the table. "I hate him."
Woonhak blinked. "Who?"
Both girls answered at the same time.
"Han Taesan."
🍒
Across the cafeteria—where the vibes were infinitely more peaceful and the drama levels significantly lower—Leehan sat hunched over his tray like he was trying to make himself invisible.
