Die with a Smile (Movie Shadow x Reader)

This oneshot commission is for @ZiggyCatholic123 !!! They wanted Shadow and the reader to get engaged, married and have beautiful children! I hope you enjoy 💜💜💜

Once Shadow and I landed back on earth we decided to look for Agent Stone. Seeing how he's probably the only one who'll accept us. We figured he was still back in London, England hiding out from all that has happened there. It took quite some time seeing how we didn't know our way around earth yet, but we eventually tracked him down to this tiny coffee shop he apparently opened.

Of course he was nice enough to let us stay with him and we even offered to help him around the shop even though we had no idea how to. Another thing I found out was that Shadow absolutely LOVED the coffee beans. I, however, liked more of the (favorite drink). It was unlike anything I've ever drank before and I couldn't get enough of it. Neither could N/y.

Shadow and I grew closer and closer as days turned into weeks and soon turned into months. Our love for each other only made us stronger and more happier. These past few days however I've noticed some changes in his behavior. He and Stone would talk privately every now and then. And every time I'd ask him about it he'd get all flustered and shy, saying it's nothing I should be worried about.

One day he had taken me to a hill up top where we could see most of the world below us as he surprised me with a picnic he set up by himself(along with the help of Stone!). I gasped seeing the blanket laid out before us and a basket of some of our favorite foods and drinks as well as a lit candle. I was in awe of how beautiful it looked.

"Shadow...what is all this?" I asked shyly as he gently took my hand, guiding us over. He gave me a small sheepish smile while rubbing the back of his neck "I, uh...I wanted to do something for you. I hope this is okay?" I gave him a nod as we both sat down "Of course. It's so sweet of you to do this."

He chuckled lightly "I'm-...sorry for my behavior these past few days. I just wanted this, um... "date" to be perfect and asked Stone for some...mild advice." He began getting out everything, setting up plates for us. I tilt my head pondering "We...never really got to have one, haven't we?" I smiled softly as he handed me my drink.

He shook his head "No...that's why I wanted to make this special. Just for us." I beamed at him lovingly as we began to eat and talk about all kinds of things there was to talk about. The sun was setting so bright and beautiful as I looked towards it, inhaling the fresh air. Nothing could be more perfect than this moment.

What I didn't notice was that Shadow took out something, opening it up as he gazed at my features. He was nervous and also a bit excited as his cheeks flushed lightly. "Y/n..." I turned to see him staring at me as I looked down wondering why he had a ring. "What is..-" before I could ask him he began talking.

"I...I'm not really sure how this is supposed to go...I didn't-...um, I didn't really have time to prepare so I'm just going to say what I need to say." He took a deep breath before continuing "From the moment I found out my feelings for you, to my confession...I knew you were the only one for me. There isn't anyone else I'd rather spend the rest of my immortal life..knowing you'll be by my side."

He smiled softly, his cheeks becoming a bit more red as he raised the box "I promise...to dedicate my life to you, Y/n. I promise to make you the happiest hedgehog that I can. I love you so much...and would go to the ends of the earth for you. Will you...will marry me?" He finished as his grip on the box shook a little seeing how nervous he was as butterflies moved in his stomach.

I could feel tears slowly begin to pour down my face as I covered my mouth with my hands. Never did I think that he would propose to me and so soon. Granted, we were still technically young but we've been with each other for over half a century. I knew I could never be with anyone else other than him. He was my best friend, my love, my soulmate.

Uh...helLOOOO?? Are you gonna answer...?!? Our man is waiting for us don't leave him hanging!

Ah- right! Sorry...

I shook my head and formed a small smile "Yes...I will." His ears perked up as his eyes widened with shock and happiness "Really..?" I nodded happily "Yes..yes!" I laughed as he took the ring out and placed it on my finger. He picked me up, spinning me around in circles as he gave me a tender loving kiss.

We wanted to get married as soon as possible so we decided to get married in a small church knowing we didn't really have friends or family to invite, plus the fact that Sonic and his family are halfway across the world. Stone had money saved aside and had personally made us wedding clothes. He was very skilled I'll give him that.

Shadow had a nice black suit with a cute bow tie while I wore a cute, simple white dress with a flower crown in my hair. Once we said our vows and the priest blessed us we were now officially married as we kissed to seal the deal. It was a wonderful moment I won't ever forget and both me and Shadow were glad to have Stone be there for us.

2 years later..

In case you were wondering....yes, we did have kids. Two beautiful girls and our special boy. They're the most precious, most adorable little hedgehogs you could ever imagine. Shadow and I are both proud to welcome these little bundle of joys into our lives. I wouldn't trade them for the world. Stone has also been a good godfather. Yes. We made him that. He's done so much for us it wouldn't feel right if we didn't.

We're all a family now.
