The silence of the warehouse was gone.
Y/n stirred at the feel of something warm brushing against her skin. It wasn’t the cold concrete floor anymore—beneath her palms was soft earth, damp with dew. Her lashes fluttered open.
A canopy of green stretched above her, sunlight streaming through layers of leaves in golden shafts. The chirping of birds, the buzz of insects, the faint gurgle of water flowing nearby—it was a symphony of the wild, and none of it belonged to the city they had collapsed in last night.
Her heart began to race.
She sat up quickly, her head spinning from the sudden change. Around her, the rest of the boys lay scattered in a small clearing, their clothes still smudged with dust and dried blood from yesterday's chaos.
“Yoongi?” she whispered, shaking his shoulder gently.
He groaned, then blinked, squinting at the bright canopy above. “What the hell…”
Jungkook rolled over, eyes wide as he realized they weren’t in the warehouse. “Wait… where are we? Wasn’t it just night?”
The others woke one by one, all showing the same mix of confusion and rising panic.
“We fell asleep in a broken warehouse,” Taehyung said slowly, standing and turning in a full circle, “and woke up in the middle of a jungle?”
“Teleportation?” Hoseok offered, incredulous.
Before anyone could respond, a familiar chime rang in the air—sharp, mechanical.
Then, the emotionless voice of the guide echoed above them:
> “Welcome to Level 3: Wild Code. Objective: Survive until extraction. Time limit: ?. Beware the predators.”
The voice disappeared, but the words hung in the air like a warning etched in stone.
Predators.
Y/n’s stomach sank. Her thoughts spun back to the fanfiction. —but she can't remember much. Only a hint, Someone didn't survive.
She tried again, focusing. There was something about this jungle level. Someone didn't survive . Something about tall trees and red eyes—but then it fuzzed out. The memory bent like fog in sunlight.
“We’re not in the real world,” Namjoon said under his breath, more to himself than to anyone else. “We never were.”
Jimin pulled his jacket tighter. “And now we’re someone’s prey.”
The sound of rustling leaves came from the trees to their right—quick, heavy, deliberate.
Everyone froze.
Taehyung’s hand instinctively moved to the makeshift knife at his side, fashioned from metal debris back in the city. “Tell me that was a bird.”
“Too heavy for that,” Yoongi murmured, scanning the foliage.
“We can’t stay here,” Y/n said, already moving to her feet. “This clearing’s too exposed.”
Namjoon nodded, all leader-mode now. “We head east. Sun’s rising that way. Maybe we’ll find higher ground.”
With tension thick as fog, they started forward. Every step felt uncertain, the jungle swallowing them in its lush but deceptive beauty. Giant leaves slapped against their faces. Roots twisted like traps beneath their boots.
They walked in silence, breaths quick, eyes darting.
Twice they heard something—a crunch, a rustle—but each time, nothing revealed itself.
