The Sidorovs had left the next morning.
Alyona stood near the window, arms crossed, eyes lingering on the fading trail of their departing car.
Her expression was composed, but a flicker of sadness passed through her eyes.
It hadn't gone unnoticed.
The Shergill siblings had a strange way of handling emotions-loud, chaotic, and oddly healing.
The younger ones-Preesha and Prithviraj had grown on her like family.
She'd especially bonded with Preesha, and she appreciated the fierce protectiveness in Prithviraj's attitude.
By the time dinner rolled around, the mansion's long dining table was alive with chatter and laughter.
Chandrika, seated at the head of the table, looked at Alyona with a warm smile. "So, Alyona, when do you plan to join the business?"
Alyona blinked, surprised. "Can I join?"
"Of course, dear," Chandrika replied, almost chuckling. "It's your family. We are not outdated. In fact, we'd love it when our daughters work."
Alyona's eyes softened.
A genuine smile lit up her face. "Thank you... that means a lot."
Raghavendra, sitting beside her, added, "You should join. Czar told me how much you helped him in Russia. We could use that brilliance here."
He continued, "We have three brands. Raghavi handles our clothing line. Kush takes care of jewelry and cosmetics. If you want, you can join Manyata-she's our event planner."
Alyona looked at him thoughtfully. "I'll think about it, brother."
Raghavendra nodded approvingly. "Good."
Later, the night Raghavendra was in his study reading a dossier when he heard a soft knock.
"Come in," he said, eyes still on the paper.
The door opened to reveal Kush.
His expression was unreadable.
"Yes, little brother? Need anything?" Raghavendra asked casually.
Kush stepped inside, shutting the door behind him. "I'll just ask directly-are you a mafia?"
Raghavendra's eyes snapped up to meet his.
The flicker of shock was enough.
Kush let out a humorless chuckle.
"Wow. So you are the mafia."
Raghavendra stood up slowly. "Kush, listen-"
"Ghar mein sabko pata hai yeh baat?" Kush cut in sharply.
