Y/n always loved spending time with her friends—Annabeth, Percy, and Grover. They shared adventures, laughs, and secrets of all kinds. But what she cherished most was being there for them whenever Luke made fun of them. Despite his teasing, Y/n saw a different side of Luke—the side that was lost, burdened, and longing for something more. Deep down, she secretly loved him, wishing she could reach out and help him see the good in himself.

One bright morning, Chiron gathered everyone in the training arena. "Today will be sword fighting practice," he announced, smiling kindly. "Pair yourselves up and work together."

Y/n felt a flutter of nervousness in her stomach. She watched as her friends paired off, some with ease, some with hesitation. When Chiron called out her name, her heart beat faster. "Y/n, you'll pair with Luke."

Percy immediately scowled. "Chiron, are you sure about that? Y/n and Luke? That doesn't seem fair."

Chiron nodded gently. "It's important for everyone to learn teamwork. Trust me, Percy. This will be good for all of you."

Percy hesitated but nodded reluctantly. "Alright, but I don't like it."

Y/n approached Luke, who was already adjusting his grip on his sword. She tried to hide her nervousness. "Hey, Luke... are you sure about this?"

He looked at her, a little surprised. "Yeah. I guess so."

As they started sparring, Y/n noticed that Luke was holding back. He was being gentle, almost tentative. She lowered her sword, puzzled. "Luke, what's wrong? You're not yourself today."

He paused, then sighed softly. "It's... complicated. My father—"

Y/n's eyes widened. "Your father? Luke, what did he do?"

Luke hesitated before finally opening up. "He's not a good man. He's made me into someone I don't want to be. Sometimes I feel like I'm just trying to survive, not really living."

Y/n felt a pang of sympathy. She looked at him, softly. "Luke, I believe there's more to you. I see the good in you. I always have."

Luke looked at her, vulnerability flickering in his eyes. Without thinking, he leaned in and gently pressed his lips to hers. The world seemed to pause. When he pulled back slightly, he whispered, "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Y/n's cheeks flushed. She nodded shyly, a small smile on her face. "Yes. I'd like that."

The Next Day

Y/n was walking with Percy, Annabeth, and Grover near the campfire, sharing stories and laughs. Percy, always curious, looked at her with a mischievous grin. "So... what happened after sword practice yesterday?"

Y/n started to blush, her words caught in her throat. She opened her mouth to tell them she was Luke's girlfriend but hesitated. Before she could, Luke appeared suddenly, striding over confidently. He reached out and took her hand, holding it gently but firmly. Y/n giggled, feeling a rush of happiness.

Percy's eyes widened. "Whoa. Y/n, is that...?"

Y/n nodded, smiling shyly. "Yeah. I told him I'd be his girlfriend."

Grover cheered happily, clapping his hands. "That's awesome, Y/n! I'm happy for you!"

But Annabeth and Percy exchanged uncertain glances. Annabeth furrowed her brow. "Y/n, are you sure? Luke... he's got a lot on his shoulders."

Percy nodded. "Yeah, he's not exactly the most stable guy. Maybe you should think this through."

Y/n's smile faltered, and her eyes started to shimmer with tears. "I... I just want to believe in him. I know he's not perfect, but I see the real Luke inside."

She leaned her head on Luke's shoulder, seeking comfort. Percy saw her sadness and immediately realized what he had done. He stepped forward and gently put a hand on her shoulder. "Y/n, I'm sorry. I just... I care about you. And I want you to be happy."

He looked at Luke with a warning glance. "But Luke, you better look after her. Or else."

Luke nodded, a determined look on his face. "I will. I promise."

Suddenly, Luke leaned in and pressed a soft, lingering kiss on her forehead. Y/n's heart fluttered. She felt safe and loved in that moment. She looked up at him, eyes shining with hope.

"I finally have someone who truly understands me," Luke whispered, voice filled with sincerity.

Y/n smiled, feeling her doubts melt away. She knew this wouldn't be easy, but she was willing to fight for what they had.

A Day in the Life

Over the next few days, Y/n and Luke grew closer. They shared quiet moments, training sessions, and whispered secrets. Luke opened up more about his struggles, and Y/n was there to listen, to comfort, and to believe in him.

One afternoon, they sat by the river, watching the water flow gently. Luke looked at her, a soft smile on his face. "You know, I never thought I'd find someone like you. Someone who sees past all the darkness."

Y/n leaned her head on his shoulder. "You're not darkness, Luke. You're just lost sometimes. But I believe in you."

Luke took her hand in his. "I want to be better—for you, for myself. I don't want to lose this." He paused, then leaned in and kissed her gently again.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out nearby. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover approached, looking a little worried. Percy hesitated before speaking. "Y/n, can we talk for a second?"

Y/n looked at Luke, who nodded reassuringly. She moved closer to her friends. Percy looked at her with a mixture of concern and apology. "Y/n, I just... I didn't mean to upset you. I care about you. And I want you to be happy. But I also worry about Luke—about what he could become."

Y/n sighed, feeling torn. "I know you're worried. But I believe in Luke. I see the good in him. And I love him for who he is, not who he might become."

Annabeth softly reached out, placing a hand on her shoulder. "We just want what's best for you, Y/n."

Gently, Y/n pulled away from her friends and looked at Luke. "I know they care. But I also know what I want. And I want to be with Luke."

Percy looked at her, regret in his eyes. "I just hope you're making the right choice."

Y/n looked at Luke, who gently brushed her hair away from her face. "I know I am," she whispered.

Luke leaned in once more, pressing a tender kiss to her lips. "Thank you for trusting me," he said softly.

And in that moment, Y/n knew she had found someone who truly understood her—a partner who would stand by her, through the darkness and the light.
