Y/n had always been close to Percy, Annabeth, and Grover—trusting and loyal friends who had become her family at Camp Half-Blood. Tonight, she was staying over at the Poseidon cabin, feeling a rare sense of safety and comfort among her friends. Percy, ever the protective one, insisted she sleep near him, so she would be safe from any dangers lurking in the night. Y/n had happily agreed, feeling grateful for their care.

As the camp settled into sleep and the stars twinkled overhead, Y/n closed her eyes, feeling a gentle warmth from Percy beside her. Her breathing slowed, and she drifted into a peaceful sleep. But in the shadows, Luke Castellan moved silently, eyes dark with conflicted determination. That night, he snuck into the cabin, carefully avoiding the others, moving quietly as a whisper. His heart pounded as he approached her sleeping form.

Y/n was still, her face peaceful. Luke hesitated for a moment, then gently reached out and carefully took her from her sleep. She stirred slightly but did not wake, and with a quiet, almost sorrowful look, he carried her out into the night.

The next morning, the camp was in chaos. Percy was the first to wake, noticing Y/n's bed was empty. His heart immediately clenched. "Y/n? Y/n!" he called out desperately, scanning the area. Annabeth and Grover woke up too, their faces instantly worried.

"She's gone," Annabeth whispered, her voice trembling. "We need to find her."

Percy clenched his fists. "She could be in danger. We have to move now."

Without wasting a moment, the three of them gathered supplies and set out, determined to find their missing friend. Meanwhile, on a moving train hidden in a remote area, Y/n awoke to the bitter cold of metal bars and darkness. Her eyes darted around in confusion, heart pounding wildly.

She tried to sit up, but the small cage she was in was confined and uncomfortable. Fear flooded her veins as she realized she was trapped. Her first instinct was to scream, but the sound was muffled by the metal bars. Tears welled up, and she started to cry softly, overwhelmed with panic.

Suddenly, a familiar voice broke through her tears. Hermes appeared beside her, his expression stern yet tinged with concern. His eyes softened as he looked at her. "Y/n, I know this is frightening, but listen—you're here because Luke wants revenge on Percy. He's upset that Percy refused to join his side. Luke's doing this because he's caught between his loyalties and his feelings."

Y/n's voice trembled as she choked out, "Please... let me go. I don't want to be here. I want to go home."

Hermes sighed, tilting his head. "We're doing everything we can. But right now, patience is our best option. We're working on a plan."

Back at the Poseidon cabin, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover woke up to an unsettling silence. Percy's instincts kicked in immediately. "Y/n's gone," he said, voice tight with worry. "Someone took her."

"Then we have to find her," Annabeth said, determination steeling her voice. "She's in danger."

Grover nodded. "We should split up and check the surrounding areas. We'll find her."

They hurriedly gathered supplies and set out on the trail, hoping to track her down before any harm could come to her. Meanwhile, on the train, Y/n was shaking, tears still streaming down her face. She curled into herself, feeling helpless and terrified.

Luke kept watch, his face conflicted. He was supposed to be doing this for revenge, yet seeing her cry was tearing him apart. He approached her cautiously, kneeling down to her level.

"Stop crying," Luke said softly, his voice surprisingly gentle. "Please."

Y/n looked up, eyes wide with fear and confusion. "Why are you doing this?" she whispered. "Why are you taking me? I don't understand."

Luke's shoulders sagged. "Because I'm tired of being a pawn. I've been manipulated and used, and I'm sick of it. I don't want to fight anymore. I don't want to be this person who hurts others."

Her eyes searched his face, and for the first time, she saw a flicker of vulnerability behind his usual stubbornness. "Even you can choose your side, Luke," she whispered. "You don't have to do this."

He hesitated, then slowly moved to the lock, searching his pockets for the keys. His hands trembled slightly, but he was determined. Carefully, he sneaked around the guard of his father, Hermes, who was preoccupied with organizing the chaos at the front of the train.

Finally, Luke found a set of keys tucked into his coat. With a deep breath, he unlocked the cage door and gently helped Y/n step out. She was trembling, but relief washed over her.

"I care about you," Luke admitted softly, his eyes locking onto hers. "More than I ever thought I would. I don't want to hurt you, or anyone else. I just... I just want to be free."

Y/n's heart fluttered. She looked at him, surprised and a little overwhelmed. "Thank you," she whispered. "Thank you for saving me."

Luke reached out, hesitating for a moment before taking her hand. "We need to get out of here," he said urgently. "But first, I need to tell you something."

Before she could respond, footsteps echoed down the corridor. Percy, Annabeth, and Grover stormed onto the train, battling Hermes fiercely. Y/n's eyes widened in horror as she saw Hermes' furious expression, his hand raised, ready to strike.

"Luke, what are you doing?" Hermes demanded, voice angry and betrayed. "This isn't your fight."

Luke took a step forward, standing his ground. "I won't let you control my decisions anymore," he said firmly. "Y/n and I are together now."

Hermes stared at him, stunned. "You're choosing her over your family?" His voice cracked with disbelief.

Luke nodded. "Yes. Because I finally realize what I want."

Percy quickly moved to Hermes, knocking him aside and helping Y/n and Luke escape. The train screeched to a halt outside the camp, and the heroes hurried out, Y/n clutching Luke's hand tightly as they ran.

When they finally returned to Poseidon's cabin, everyone was relieved to see her safe. Hermes, though still upset, managed a nod of acceptance. "I may not agree with your choices, Luke," he said gruffly, "but I see you've made your decision."

Y/n turned to Luke, smiling softly. "Thank you for saving me. For choosing me."

Luke looked at her, eyes full of sincerity. "I don't regret it. I want to be with you, no matter what."

Later that night, after everyone else had gone to sleep, Luke sat beside Y/n, nervously brushing her hair away from her face. He leaned in slowly, pressing his lips softly to hers in a gentle kiss.

Y/n closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of his touch and the sincerity in his words. They both knew their path wouldn't be easy—there would be challenges and doubts—but in this moment, they chose each other.

They had made their choice. Love had won.

Together, they sat beneath the stars, silently promising to face whatever came next, side by side. Their hearts were finally aligned, and nothing could break the bond they shared—because love, no matter how complicated, was worth fighting for.
