It had been 2 weeks since Raven Gray Callow was named as the victor of the 68th Hunger games, but she had yet to wake up. She was safe and it was confirmed she would make it but it was the matter of when she woke up. She didn't want to, everyone knew if she woke up and Silas wasn't there everything would change. She had multiple visitors, Atticus and Thalia, Colt, Bovine, and Dexter, Haymitch, Mags came and even Finnick.
It was the middle of the day and Haymitch was visiting again, he didn't realize when he grew an attachment to the girl, maybe it was the guilt from his own games or maybe it was because she reminded him of his lost love, or his sweetheart, he wasn't sure but he wouldn't allow the Callow girl to be alone not after what happened to her family. He felt her hand twitch. And he looked at her, her eyes were scrunching like she was about to open her eyes.
It took a minute before she slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was the white ceiling, it took her a minute to register where she was before she started to freak out,"Hey, shhh" Haymitch said, taking a hold of her hand and holding her face to make her look at him.
"You're safe," He told her.
"Silas." Her voice was raspy from not talking he just gave her a sad look, it was like all her memories came flashing before her eyes. Silas was dead, she couldn't save him like she promised she would.
"I'm gonna go find a doctor." He tried to stand up and leave the room but Raven Gray grabbed his hand and shook her head. "Just wait a minute. . .if they know I'm awake then everything becomes real. I don't want it to be real just yet."
"Okay, whenever you're ready."
Not even a couple minutes Dexter, Bovine, and Colt came in.
"She's awake!" Dexter said.
"How long was she awake?" Colt asked.
"Couple minutes." Haymitch said. Dexter immediately left to go get a doctor.
"Guess is time to face reality." Raven Gray said. Colt, Bovine, and Haymitch gave her a sad smile, if only she knew what was in store for her.
The doctor made sure she was healing okay, and in a couple days she would be release, however the joy of that was cut off when the most unexpected visitor arrived. The second he walked in Colt, Bovine, Dexter, and Haymitch tensed.
"President Snow, what an honor." Raven Gray looked at him with a hatred in her eyes that everyone could sense.
"Leave us." Colt, Bovine, Dexter, and Haymitch gave eachother a worried look before leaving, they all knew something bad was going to happen in that room, Raven Gray showed compassion for the dead, and for the first time in 58 years a girl had sung in the arena, a girl who was a daughter of a fallen tribute and a girl who was named after the legacy of Lucy Gray. Of course no one had known who Lucy Gray was, she had erased her from the world, and if he had too he would erase Raven Gray too. He would destroy her the same way he did her. But people already loved her so he couldn't get rid of her that easily, so he would just have to kill the mysterious songbird.
