Herbert Marone sat upon the cold hard metal chair... his arms wresting on the equally cold table.. twiddling his thumbs nervously as his dumpy face was reflected back at him from the one way window behind the empty chair across from him.
His lower lip quivered as sweat poured down his face.
Behind the glass, a familiar muscled female Max Kill Captain stood, her arms folded as she looked at the nervous school cook with slightly raised eyebrows.
As this went on, the door to the observation room opened and CaD stepped over, adjusting his suit. "Hey Jonesy.."
"That's Captain Jones to you.." said Jonesy with a small smirk. "Hope you realize how many strings I had to pull for this."
"Believe me, the effort isn't lost on me. I owe you one.. any favor you need, you only have to ask." said CaD.
"Heh, my sister won't stop bragging about how amazing your kids are.. and how amazing a boss you are to her.. I used to think you were just another Sion City corpo.. but.. you've changed my mind.. and I don't easily change my mind ya hear?" said Jonesy. "Just keep treating my sister well and you can keep your favors.."
"Heh, well its still on the table if you need it." said CaD. "I'm guessing Fenglong already pulled him through the ringer regarding the goods he was selling them and his identity."
"Apparently they finished right before we managed to arrest him and bring him here. Best they could glean from what I know is that even Herbert doesn't know why he seems to be some immortal existence on his ID. Fenglong figured it had to be a clerical error and let him go. I'm almost inclined to agree with them, except... "
" What?" CaD muttered.
"Something about him... just.. feels.. wrong.." said Jonesey. "CaD. Whatever you do in there, don't be fooled. There's.. something not normal about him.. and I don't think he knows it."
"Oh he knows it." said CaD. "I'm here cause I've come across.. more information since the investigation by Fenglong concluded.. I'm just here to remind him.." z
Jonesy rasied an eyebrow. "O.. kay?"
"Things might get rough in there."
Jonesey raised her hands up. "Trust me.. that room ain't a stranger to non-ethical interrogations. Much as I hate to admit it."
"I don't mean for him." said CaD. "But if I'm right.. I can't make gaurantees for him either."
CaD took a stack of files from Jonesey and made his way out of the observation room, turning sharply through the next door in the hall leading straight into interrogation.
Herbert perked up as CaD entered, as if finally relieved that somebody showed up, but then recoiled immediately in fright.
CaD couldn't blame him. If The Terminator without its human skin wearing a suit walked through your door, you'd probably stress out as well.
"I understand that this might be inconvenient for you Mr. Marone.. I do believe you've started interviewing for new jobs in several kitchens in our fine city.." said CaD. "Don't wanna make you late to prep your interviews so.. I'll try and make this quick.. So you were involved in the recent skirmish between my organization, the police, and Fenglong as well as Sion Industries, correct?"
"Ummm.. I appreciate your understanding, but I'm at a loss as to why a private industry's leader is the one interrogating me-?" Muttered Herbert.
"Standard authority Mr. Marone." said CaD. "As a military provider and contractor, I have similar authority to Providence's agents in matters of the government. And like Providence's leaders I'm a bit of a hopeless idealist, though how I achieve my ideals mght not be... pretty.."
