It's been two days since Agatha's death, Trevor's kidnapping and Allen's betrayal.
Oh and Tj's death.
Everyone is walking on eggshells at this point, even Trevor who was still traumatized by what happened to him.
Twice, my son was kidnapped and twice he was in an environment that scared him shitless.
He jumps at sudden loud noises, he doesn't want to be left alone when he uses the bathroom, he has nightmares that'll have me up with him at 3oclock in the morning and when Tristan had to leave to deal with the mess Moretti made killing Tj, Trevor cried the entire day. He screamed, kicked and whined, asking when his daddy was coming back.
My heart was breaking for my baby. All I could do was comfort him in this time and make sure he knows that I'm here.
Right now, I had just washed him up after taking a shower of my own with him sitting on the toilet and playing quietly with his toys.
He hasn't smiled since that day and I would do anything just to see a hint of a smile.
I dried him off with a towel and helped him get into his superhero onesie. He was staring off into space, clutching his toy while I dried off his curls and ran some hair cream and oil into it.
"Trevor, baby?" I say softly so I don't scare him away from his daydream.
"Yes mommy?" He whispers.
"Are you okay baby?" I ask, running my hands through his hand.
That's when I bend down to his eye level and saw the glossiness of his eyes. My own started water at the sight of him trying to hold in his tears. "Oh baby." I cooed, pulling him towards me. "It's alright, you can cry."
That's all he needed to hear before he let the waterworks fall. He cried, loudly and harshly. Snot and tears covered my shoulders but I didn't care, my baby was hurting.
I held him close, rocking him back and forth, whispering soothing words against his hair. "It's okay, baby. Mommy's here. It's going to be okay." I knew it wasn't a guarantee, not really. Trauma like this leaves scars, invisible but deep. I just hoped, prayed, that the love and security I could provide would be enough to help him heal.
But even as I comforted Trevor, my mind was a whirlwind of anger and betrayal.
