“EAT TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT,” you huffed, immediately stuffing food into your mouth, tuning out the chaos and noise around you.

it’s been a week since you were discharged from the hospital. surprisingly, koko really did cover the bills like they said he would. during your confinement, your room was rarely quiet, almost every day, someone would drop by. it made sense that the toman higher-ups visited: mikey, draken, baji, mitsuya, hakkai, chifuyu, takemichi, the kawata twins, even peh-yan and inui. they were your comrades, after all.

but the former tenjiku boys? that part still confused you. why would they waste their time just hanging around in your room, doing nothing but loitering like it was some kind of club? maybe they were bored. maybe they were just nosy. either way, it was strange.

thankfully, they never visited all at once. that would’ve been a disaster waiting to happen. not because you’d play referee—no, you’d absolutely jump into the brawl if one broke out. hospital gown and IV drip be damned.

you were mid-bite when mikey suddenly shoved a piece of grilled meat into your mouth. "n/n-chin, taste this," he said, grinning. you glared at him with puffed cheeks, but he only laughed and kept eating like nothing happened. you chewed the meat angrily, but you couldn’t deny it—it was delicious.

today was a small celebration hosted by ryoko baji, and the reason? her son, baji keisuke, actually made it to the honor roll. you wouldn’t have believed it if you hadn’t seen the proof yourself.

but hey, that’s only because you’re actually good at what you do, an unexpectedly awesome tutor with a sharp tongue and a sharper brain. baji’s teachers didn’t stand a chance once you stepped in.

ryoko was practically beaming with pride. she never pressured keisuke to aim for high grades, she just wanted him to pass. so when his adviser told her that he’d ranked among the honor students, she nearly cried out of happiness. she knew her son had it in him, even if he was more fists than books.

and of course, she didn’t forget to thank the person who helped him get there. the one who sat through his tantrums, dealt with his whining, and somehow drilled knowledge into his thick skull. the one who tutored him for free, well, in exchange for free food. you, bakugo y/n.

baji didn’t stand a chance against you either. every time he tried to whine or throw a tantrum, he’d get overshadowed by your own dramatic outbursts, you were louder, more stubborn, and twice as petty. he’d open his mouth to complain, only for you to beat him to it with a rant about how you were wasting your precious time trying to make him less of a dumbass. and if he still dared to act up, you’d smack him on the head with a rolled-up newspaper like some rebellious puppy. eventually, he just shut up and studied.

as thanks, ryoko prepared a feast, inviting all of keisuke’s friends. she stood by the kitchen doorway, watching everyone enjoy the dishes she cooked, her heart full. laughter echoed around the room, plates clinked, and satisfied sighs filled the air.

everyone looked genuinely happy.

except for you. you weren’t smiling. you were munching like a war god. aggressively.

“you gotta tutor me until i graduate, y/n.” baji’s tone was half-serious, half-teasing as he looked at you with those stubborn eyes. you scowled, glaring right back at him.
