It started with a loud crack.Wonwoo jolted up from the couch, blinking at the sound. Mingyu, who had been halfway through a game on his phone, looked up too.
"What the hell was that?" Mingyu asked.
Wonwoo didn't answer right away. He walked back toward the bedroom, then paused.
Another soft creak. And then-
CRASH.
He rushed inside to find one leg of his bed completely snapped, the mattress tilted sideways like a sinking ship.
"Wow," Mingyu said from behind him. "Your bed just died."
Wonwoo glared. "It didn't die. It gave up."
"Probably because you flop onto it like a sack of potatoes every night."
Wonwoo sighed. "Great. Just great."
"I have to sleep on the couch," Mingyu Said, leaning against the doorframe.
Wonwoo narrowed his eyes. "You're taller than me and your knees don't even fit on that couch."
Mingyu smirked. "Then... sleep with me."
Silence.
Not the flirty kind. The oh-god-did-he-really-just-say-that kind.
Mingyu raised a hand. "I meant in the same bed, not like-"
"I got it," Wonwoo said quickly, ears slightly pink.
That night, the room was too quiet.
Wonwoo lay stiffly on the right side of Mingyu's large bed, facing the wall. He had brought his own pillow, his own blanket, and had declared earlier: "Don't worry, I won't touch you."
He said it with so much distance that Mingyu had to bite back a sarcastic "Gee, thanks."
They turned off the lights. They didn't talk. Just silence and the faint hum of the air conditioner.
Minutes passed.
Then-slowly, quietly-Wonwoo began to move.
He shifted once. Then again.
Mingyu frowned slightly in the dark. Is he cold?
Another shift. And this time... it wasn't just shifting.
It was sliding.
Closer.
By the time Mingyu fully opened his eyes, Wonwoo's knees were brushing his. Then a palm pressed against Mingyu's arm.
Then...
A full body pressed against his side.
Wonwoo's head tucked under his chin. Soft, like he belonged there. Like he did it every night.
Mingyu went completely still.
What the hell?
Wonwoo mumbled something incoherent and snuggled even closer, one leg lazily thrown over Mingyu's.
Mingyu's brain short-circuited. He looked down slowly, as if afraid any sudden movement would ruin this dream state.
Was this the same Jeon Wonwoo who glared at him for breathing too loud in the mornings?
And now...
He was literally clinging to him like a sleepy koala.
Wonwoo let out a small sigh. Peaceful. Unaware.
Mingyu didn't know whether to laugh or panic.
Instead, he carefully, almost shyly, wrapped one arm around Wonwoo's waist.
