"We're going to India tomorrow."
My mouth fell open as soon as the words left his lips.
Did I hear that right? India? We?
But... why?
My brows furrowed, confusion clouding my face. I blinked rapidly, trying to process what he'd just said, as if the syllables might rearrange themselves into something more logical if I stared hard enough.
I shook my head slightly, trying to snap myself out of the daze I'd fallen into.
"Why?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper but laced with happiness and curiosity.
He looked at me calmly, then lowered the gun and kept it aside.
With a single hand gesture, he signaled Gurdas and Zayden to leave. No words were needed. The room emptied within seconds.
Now, it was just him and me.
"I have an important meeting and party to attend in India," he said, his voice smooth, almost indifferent.
"Then go there yourself. I don't want to come with you," I shot back, folding my arms tightly across my chest and turning my body slightly away from him. My stance screamed rebellion, but inside, my heart was racing.
