All will become clear after this...

Unknown POV:

To save a life is one thing, but to keep a person safe afterwards was another. Watching her die was the hardest thing I could have ever done. After all I was her mother, I should have never left her at the orphanage, I should have kept her safe. I was a failure.

I wiped a stray tear from my face, brushing my golden curls back under my hood, I watched with sapphire blue eyes, as my child was healed by her own magical properties as well as Lucifers.

Her father was human, I fell in love with him. I should have seen it coming, but I didn't. He died in a car accident. He knew what I was, he saw me when nobody else did. When I became pregnant, we were both happy, over the moon in fact.

It was this reason he died. He was on his way over to his friends house to tell them the good news, he didn't see the truck pulling out to his left. But then, neither did I.

Remembering this brought on more fresh tears. I swiped them away with shaking hands. With new found determination, I chanted a spell I knew would transport Sapphire back to the human world, fully healed. I walked quietly over to her sleeping body, robes swirling around me, the black cloak like a burden on my back. I kneeled next to my beautiful daughters body and softly placed a kiss on her forehead, watching as she disappeared from this world.

Lucifer would find her, in time, but for now she was safely back in her own world. Feeling a heavy weight fall off my shoulders, my deed was done. I too then disappeared, leaving a sleeping Lucifer alone on the empty ball room floor.

Sapphire POV:
The next morning I was discharged from the hospital and believe me I couldn't have been any happier. The doctor gave me the all clear, but told me to take it easy. As if I would, I knew there was absolutely nothing wrong with me, apart from suddenly being alive, with a heart beat. I gathered my leather jacket and purse, looking around the extremely bare hospital room. The only things in the room was a hospital bed, covered in dull white sheets, a bedside cabinet and a single window. This was real, Lucifer wasn't. Over night I had willed myself to forget about him. How would you forget someone like him? I knew I was setting myself up for a mental breakdown. It was going to be hard to readjust myself to the old world I was now surrounded by.

Unlocking my front door, I waved goodbye to the taxi driver as he pulled away. I pushed open the door, regretting the action immediately, before I had left I had forgotten to put the milk back in the fridge. The smell in the apartment had me rushing to the bathroom and puking up the hospital food. The stench was vile, making my eyes water.

Washing my mouth out with some mouth wash, I tossed the milk away pulling a disgusted face, I held my nose. After completing this task, I took a good look at the apartment, a hand placed on my hip, It was nothing compared to the luxury of Lucifers palace. Shaking my head to stop the tears forming in my eyes, I brushed my still black hair, pulling it up into a bun and grabbed the air freshener. Something's didn't change back, take my hair and eyes for example. I guess I was stuck with these tiny reminders of what had really happened to me. I felt determined to clean my apartment, get rid of anything that I disliked. Putting this task into action, I opened my windows and grabbed the hoover.

Half way through the tiring task of moping the checkered kitchen floor, there was a loud knocking on my front door. A wave of panic settled in my stomach, who could it be? Nobody knew I was even alive! I felt sweat form on my fore head and my hands became clammy.

Dropping the mop quietly back in the bucket, I spotted an object across the room. Grabbing half of a baseball bat from behind the couch, I crept up to the front door. I looked through the peep hole, the colour draining from my face. I suddenly felt compelled to open the door.

Once the door was fully opened, I regained control of my actions, I tried to slam the door closed, but he got there first. I let out a scream of terror, watching as he shoved the door open, his eyes staring into my soul. I suddenly felt so tired, so calm, I let out a small yawn, before dropping to the floor on a heap. Why did this keep happening to me?
