Newt:
You hadn't planned for this to happen. It was just a stupid dare. Zart had dared you to run down the first corridor of the maze and back. No big deal right? Well it was cause the shucking doors started closing when you got down the corridor. You ran with all your strength to see Newt trying to run in after you but the other gladers holding him back. You collapsed when the doors slammed shut in front of you. You felt tears slide down your face as you thought about all the horrible things that could happen in here. You heard the grievers come out of wherever it is they go in the day and panic flooded your system.
You looked around and noticed that the ivy goes really close to top from inside the maze. You instinctively started to climb. You froze when you heard the sounds of metal on concrete coming your way. You released a deep breath and started climbing again. You hid yourself in the ivy surrounding you as best you could. When the threat passed, you continued climbing up until you got to the top of the wall. You were breathing raggedly as you had been climbing for what felt like forever. You walked to one end of the wall and were met with a view of the Glade at night.
You cried a few more tears as you saw Minho carry a sleeping Newt back to the Homestead. "Just last the night." you thought to yourself. You tied yourself in some of the ivy so you wouldn't fall off the wall if you rolled in your sleep.
When the sun hit your eyes you immediately woke up. You looked out as the maze finished shifting. Untying yourself, you climbed down the ivy with extra care. When you reached the bottom, the doors had just finished opening. You saw Newt standing at the front of the group with his faced stained with tears. You stumbled towards him and collapsed in his arms.
"I'm so bloody glad you're safe," he said.
"I could never leave you," you responded. Thank the creators you had made it out alive.
Thomas:
I am so shucked. You thought while running back to the maze. You had taken too long of a break and now you were trying to make it back to the glade before the doors closed for the night. You were only a few turns away when you heard the click of grievers out and about. Looks like I'm stuck out here, you thought before taking off running again. You ran until you got to the cliff.
You had heard that things if you throw something off the edge it would disappear. You tested it with a few rocks and then waited for the grievers to come to you. As if on cue a griever showed its ugly face as it came creeping down the corridor. You braced yourself and hoped your plan would work. When it got close enough you jumped to the side and kicked its back legs aiding the dull creature in its tumble into the abyss.
Mini victory dance time!! Your celebration was short lived as another 2 came around the corner. You repeated the same process and succeeded. Things were silent for the next few hours or what you assumed were hours. You could barely see your watch in the moonlight. Eventually the sounds of a griever made their way down the path. You prepared to perform the same process. Except something went wrong this time.
As the griever went over the side it swung out with its claw and side swiped your leg knocking you on your feet and leaving a lovely little gash on your calf. You winced in pain and ripped your shirt sleeve to tie it up. You noticed the sky getting lighter and you began the journey back to the glade at barely more than a walk. When you made it you saw the boys doing their jobs in the glade. They must have assumed you were dead.
You stumbled into the glade and collapsed onto the grass. You heard footsteps running towards you when you slipped out of consciousness. When you woke up Thomas was sitting in a chair next to your bed holding your hand. You smiled weakly. You'd made it back. You beat the maze.
Minho:
Minho wasn't going to make it back in time. He was stumbling down the path and you couldn't take it anymore. You broke from Newt's grip on your arm and you ran at top speed into the maze. You tried to help him walk faster but it was useless. The doors slid shut while you were still 10 feet away.
Great, you were stuck. You turned to see your boyfriend heaving on the ground and clutching his side.
"What happened?" you asked rushing to his side.
"A griever got me on my way back. It didn't sting me, just batted me around a little bit." he said before wincing in pain.
You scanned the area. He wouldn't be able to move in his condition. You dragged him to the wall and found a large crack covered by ivy. You helped him fit inside and followed after covering the two of you in Ivy. It was risky, but it would buy you time.
And it did. In fact you made it to the next morning safe and sound. Neither of you slept at all in fear the grievers would catch you off guard. You walked triumphantly into the glade with Minho by your side. The glasses cheered and helped patch your boyfriend up.
The first two gladers to survive the maze.
