"Tell me you didn't, please tell me you didn't babe" Tanner sat on the countertop "you really brought his mother up?" He hung his head, "I thought you said you wouldn't"
Katrina paced in the small kitchen, it had been a few weeks since she said it "I know okay, I have to be in the clear by now, don't you think so?"
"You would know better than I do" he jumped down from the counter and embraced her, "maybe he forgot all about it, right?" He smiled, "he's a five year old, he's got the attention span of a gnat, I bet he's forgotten all about it"
"From your lips Tanner" she smiled, "I could lose my job if he says anything, and this is the best job I've had, that's not even taking into consideration what his parents will do to me" she wouldn't lie she was hurt that Anthony didn't know about Wendy. "I just think he should know about Wendy, that's all"
Tanner put his hands on her hips, "It's not your call, babe. I hope you won't mention it again, he's just a little boy he won't understand it"
She sighed, "I know, you're right. It just sucks"
"Talk to me" Adam said as he propped himself up on his elbows, "something is bothering you what is it?" He was pleased the kids hadn't woken up yet, he'd been working a case and hadn't spent much alone time with Kim.
Kim sat up in the bed pulling the blankets up to her chin, "did you really put the air conditioning on, it's nearly November" she laughed.
"Don't change the subject" he hopped out of bed and adjusted the thermostat, "what is it?"
"I just thought I would be pregnant by now" she looked crestfallen, "what if I don't get pregnant?"
"Hey, we have two beautiful children already and while I'd like nothing more than to add another one, we will be okay if it doesn't happen" he stroked her cheek, "we just have to keep trying" he winked, "it'll happen"
"You know I'm still pretty cold, do you think you could help with that?" She laughed.
"Mrs.Ruzek, that was the lamest line I've ever heard, but I will definitely help you" he laughed as he climbed back underneath the covers.
Trey waited his turn to go through the metal detector, he knew Declan would be pissed that he showed up here but he needed to check on his little brother he knew what it was like to be locked up.
"Let's go!" The guard said motioning for Trey to walk thru, nodding his head when Trey was deemed 'safe'.
Trey filled out the information sheet and handed it to the receptionist, she took it and quickly read it over, "Go to window seven, the prisoner will arrive shortly" she told him a permanent scowl on her face.
"Yea, thanks" Trey told her on his way to the window.
Declan plopped down in the chair a few minutes later, begrudgingly he picked up the phone "What part of don't come visit me didn't you understand?" He asked.
Trey picked at the peeling countertop, using his fingernail to lift the corner, "I know what it's like in here, you know"
Declan could hardly contain his laughter, "Excuse me? Doing a few nights in solitary with Uncle Adam's friend looking out for you isn't the same Trey, not even close"
He held his hand up, "You're right, I'm sorry. Are you doing okay?"
"I'm having a ball" he told him, "what do you want?"
"I just wanted to see that you're okay" Trey explained, "Mom and Charlie miss you"
Declan rolled his eyes, "I'm fine okay" he slammed the phone down and hung his head he knew it wouldn't be long before he was in tears and he couldn't risk the other inmates seeing him cry.
