"I'm going to make a cup of tea, you want one?" Lock asked over his shoulder.

"Sure thing, Bro." I said, getting my homework out of my bag and heading into the kitchen.

"Lucy, Jamie, you guys want a cup of tea?" Lock called out.

"Yeah, Bro!" Jamie called from his bedroom, which was on the ground floor next to the living room.

"Yes please, Lock!" Lucy said from behind me.

"I WANT ONE TOO!" Jo-Jo screamed from the living room. "With sugar!"

"Whatever you say, little one." Lock complies, walking further into the kitchen to put on the kettle.

"Hey, Key, can I talk to you, I really need some advice." Lucy asked me nervously.

"Sure, Luce, you want to go to my room and talk?"

"Yeah, I'll meet you up there, bring my tea with you." She instructed, climbing up the stairs towards my room.

"How come she wants your advice and not mine?" Lock whined.

"Because she probably needs some sort of girl advice to do with periods or something, do you know anything about that?"

"Pfft, here's the tea." He scoffed, handing me the steaming mugs. I carefully made my way upstairs with my schoolbooks under my arms and one mug in each hand. I kick my door open with my foot and walked into my navy and white walled room. During the summer, when we moved back from the US, I had decided to spruce my room up with painting one of my walls a navy blue and the rest white. On the walls hung many photos of family and friends from the States and the UK, along with my posters of Taylor Swift, my queen. Against the wall with the window was my queen-sized bed, which doubled as a sofa, with a mountain of pillows that took me forever to arrange each morning. Lucy was sat against those pillows, while reading a book.

"Here's your tea, can you get it before I drop my books, please!" Lucy got up and took the mug in her hand, clasping it between her hands, before sitting back down on my bed.

"Thanks." Lucy said, quietly. With my free hand, I took the books from out under my arm and placed them on my desk.

"So, what book are you reading?" I asked as I sat down beside her, with my tea.

"The forth book in the 'Selection' series by Kiera Cass." She replied, while folding a dog-ear on the page she had gotten to.

"I love that series, I can't wait until the next book comes out! Did you know it's going to be made into a film?" I inquired excitedly. Lucy shook her head, with excitement in her eyes, mirroring my own.

"Really? I can't wait!" She squealed along with me. We laughed, before things got more serious.

"What did you want to ask me?"

"Well, I'm in this situation. Joanna and I have been talking and I found out she likes the same boy as I do, we tried to talk it out but got into an argument. I tried to talk to her but she's just been ignoring me, I don't know what to do." Lucy sniffled, trying to hold in her tears. She and Joanna had only just become friends, but they had already been attached at the hip since they had met a few weeks ago. They lived down the street and Lucy had met Joanna while walking to the shops with Mum.

"Aw, Honey! It'll be all right. But firstly, what are you doing liking a boy? You're only ten! Secondly, you should never let a boy come between any friendships you have, they'll only break your heart." I recited what Mum had told me, when I was a bit older than she was.
